TITLE:

INTRODUCTION:

Before going to the main topic of research, let us first understand:

“What is TQM?”

Total quality management (TQM) is a management approach which aims at achieving long-term
success through customer satisfaction. In a TQM method all members of an organization aim to
improve the following:

 Processes
 Products
 Services and
 The work cultures

ABOUT THE COMPANY:

 Gold Plus traces its origin in 1985, started trading in various glasses with a capital of Rs
5000 and with a team of merely 7 people including the Chairman Mr. Subhash Tyagi and
Mr. Suresh Tyagi and became leading glass trading company in India in the early 90’s.

 Gold Plus started glass processing in the year 1996 and expanded to produced complete
range of architectural processed glass and eventually becoming the largest Architectural
glass processor in the Country.

 Gold Plus currently employs more than 1000 people with 4.5 million sqft spread self-
owned production area with 2 float lines starting in 2009 and 2018 respectively with a
combined capacity of 1250 tons per day.
RESEARCH PROBLEM:

As we know Glass Industry is a stable industry with subsequently less number companies
operating in the top position in the present market such as:

 Gold Plus Glass Pvt. Ltd.

 Asahi Glass Pvt. Ltd.
 Saint Gobain Glass Pvt. Ltd.
 Piramal Glass Pvt. Ltd.
 Pragati Glass Pvt. Ltd.

o So, our Research Problem is to study about the TQM Practices in Gold Plus Glass
Company and identify Best Practices among them.

o We will be also studying all the various theories as well as aspects related to the TQM
practices in depth.

RESEARCH OBJECTIVES:

From this research the basic objectives which will be achieved are:

 To study about all TQM Practices and gain theoretical knowledge about the same such
as:
People, Process, Work Culture, Services.

 To find the best TQM practices with respect to the company by seeing the various
parameters related to TQM. Thus, this will help to increase the efficiency of the
production process.

RESEARCH METHODOLOGY:
Based on the objective of the study i.e. To study about the TQM Practices in Company as well as
identify the Best TQM practices among them, I will be using Descriptive research because the
study is focused on the fact of finding the Best TQM Practices. For the study we will be using
primary data as well as secondary data which is already available on the internet and various
other mediums.
PROPOSED ANALYSIS:

I will be studying about the theoretical aspects about various TQM Practices used in the Gold Plus
Company in depth. After studying all the practices, descriptive analysis will be done to find the
Best TQM Practices for the company by going through the primary data as well as secondary data.

EXPECTED OUTCOME:

The result will be to identify the Best TQM Practice in the company in order to increase the
various processes of production and also increase the efficiency of the process which will be
beneficial to the company as it saves cost, time, manpower.

Any further addition and reduction in this topic of research is totally subjected to the guidance
by the assigned company mentor and his/her recommendation.
