Para la realización de las actividades no partimos de cero ni tampoco todo está dicho, siempre hay algo nuevo por aprender

V + C). Cuando esté organizado realiza su traducción con lógica y coherencia.
 “Ah! This is what I´ve been looking for” said Mr. MM happily. And he was even happier when he discovered that the
place was empty.

 The kind and cheerful landlady of the Good Traveller advised him what provisions food and drink he should buy. But
when he told her where he was going to live she turned pale…”

 He found the house agent, a Mr. Carnford, and asked if it was possible to rent the house. The agent seemed very
pleased that somebody wanted to live there.

 Mr. MM didn´t ask the agent what this “absurd prejudice” was, knowing he would get more information, if he wanted,
from other people. So he paid three months´ rent, asked for the name of the woman who would cook and clean for him,
and went away with the keys in the pocket.

 “Mr.MM was going to take an examination in Mathematics very soon so he made up his mind to go somewhere quiet
and study by himself. As he wanted to avoid the attraction of seaside and the countryside he decided to find some quiet
little town where there would be nothing to distract him. So, he packed a suitcase with clothes and books and then bought
a ticket for the first name on the local timetable which he didn´t know.
 The day after his arrival Mr.MM looked for an even quieter place than The Good Traveller. The only house he liked was
so quiet and isolated it seemed almost desolate. This was an old, rambling Jacobean house with heavy gables and small
windows, surrounded by a massive, high brick wall. In fact, it looked like a fortified house.

 “To tell you the truth, - he said –I would let you live there rent-free if the owners agreed. The house has been empty so
long that people have some kind of absurd prejudice about it.”

 The journey to Benchurch took three hours. It was a sleepy little town with one inn called The Good Traveller. He went
directly there and booked a room for the night. He felt satisfied that nobody knew where he was; he would be able to study
in peace. Benchurch was a market town which was crowded only once in three weeks; for the rest of the time it was as
quiet as a desert.

Answer the following questions

1. What was Mr. MM´s purpose?

2. Why did the landlady of The Good Traveller turn pale?

3. Why would the house agent let to Mr.MM live in the house rent-free?

4. What was the “absurd prejudice”?

5- Where did Mr. MM live?

6. What name would you give to this story?

3. TIEMPO PASADO SIMPLE.

SUJETO VERBO COMPLEMENTO CONECTOR

(Yo) no iba al colegio porque
(I) did not go at school
(Yo) estaba en cuarentena
(I) was in quarantine
