 Now that you’ve mastered the speech writing process. We will now proceed to another topic.

3. Motivation

 Before we formally begin our new lesson, let’s have first an activity and it is called “Stop,
Observe, and Guess”.

(Directions will be flash on the screen)

 I will divide you into three groups, then you must stand in line and dance with your groupmates,
once I played the song. Stop when I pause the song then observe the lyrics of the song because it
has some errors. If you could identify the errors, stamp your foot; correct the song and tell the
title of it. You have 10 seconds to answer. If your group answer is wrong, other groups have a
chance to steal.

4. Motive Questions

1. Why do you listen to music?

2. Aside from music, what are the other things that can entertain people? When it comes
to academics, what are the other ways that entertain you? How about on this subject?
3. What do you think is our lesson?

5. Lesson Proper

Today, we will be focusing on organizing and delivering an entertainment speech.

It is one of the type of speech according to purpose, right? And what do you mean by an
entertainment speech? Do you have any idea? For you to find out the importance of
entertainment speech. Let’s have another activity and it is called “Your voice sounds
familiar”.

(Directions will be flash on the screen)

 With your same groupmates, you have to choose a representative to pick on a draw lots at the
same time, they will be the one to imitate the artist that they’ve got. Then the other group will be
the one to guess the name of the artist that the other group is portraying. They must stamp their
foot if they know the answer. Again, if the answer is wrong, the other group can steal.
 Now, I have some questions regarding on the activity. Here are the questions that they will
answer:

1. Does the comedian that your classmates portrayed catch your attention?
2. What are the purposes of the comedians?
3. Why did you find the comedians entertaining?
4. What are their strategies in making you entertained?
5. Can you now tell me the aims of entertainment speech?

(Furthermore, the teacher will elaborate the topic)

6. Evaluation

For your last group activity, we will have “Read, Revise, Share”. I will group you into five,
then I will give you an entertainment speech that you have to read then you will revise it once
you find some errors. Then you have to choose a representative that will share the corrected
entertainment speech with proper intonation and feelings. You have 10 minutes to do the
activity.

7. Generalization

How will you make your life story entertaining? What strategies you will use? Is it through a
joke, funny stories, dramatization, or scary story? Choose one and explain your answer.

8. Assignment

Create your own entertainment speech. Write it in one whole sheet of paper and be ready for
the sharing next meeting.
