Definite Articles
The French use four different words to say the (definite article): le, la, l’ and les. The
word must agree with the word in number and gender. Every noun in French is either
masculine or feminine and sometimes plural. This is called its gender.

adjective describes a noun.
In French adjectives change to agree with the noun they are describing.
Eg Pierre est français. Sophie est française.
Generally you add ‘e’ to the end of an adjective to make it agree with a feminine noun
Sophie est blonde. Pierre est blond.
When there is more than one object the noun is plural. Generally you add ‘s’ to the adjective.
Sophie et Marie sont blondes. Les filles sont jolies.
Pierre et Marc sont blonds. Les garçons sont grands et blonds.
