Pedagogy Planning

In this interactive white board activity, the children will touch the board to play games
and rewrite sentences to correct double negatives and learn correct grammar in
sentence structure to be able to speak and write in Standard English.
Pedagogy

Activity This lesson begins with the discussion led by the teacher going
over what double negatives are. The students will be actively
listening. The teacher then moves on to open the floor to have
the children approach the board to play games. The children will
be called up one-by-one to play the game. The students will play
and learn, and the teacher will continue to call the students up.
After that game has been played for all the students to get one
chance they will move onto the next game. Each student should
get a turn in this game also. After all students have taken a turn
the teacher will let them know that they will be moving into an
individual activity. With the individual activity the students will
take out their journals and write the sentences that are on the
board in their journals. They will have to rewrite the sentences in
the correct format without the double negative. The teacher will
ask if all students are done then call on volunteers to write their
answers on the lines provided for the sentences. When all the
sentences have been done and gone over then that should
conclude the lesson for that day.
