WARRANTY

The Product MP - Series ( Micro - Controller


based Annunciator) is backed up by Alan's warranty
against all manufacturing defects at our works for 18
months from the date of supply or 12 months from the
date of installation, which ever is earlier.

GENERAL

The world is going through automation in each


and every field. Any manufacturing controlling system
requires centralized monitoring. Annunciator is one of
the equipments among these systems. After studying
numerous site requirements, Alan Electronic Systems
Pvt. Ltd, have developed and perfected the Annunciator
with latest technology. The user friendly design fulfills
the expectations and demands of the customer.

ALAN'S SPECIAL FEATURES
1. Easily replaceable window legends.
2. Wide Input Voltage range. i.e. 88 - 350V AC / DC
or 18 - 90V DC.
3. Detection of momentary fault, which may occur
while performing “ Operational Test ”.
4. “Operational test” does not affect the status of the
fault condition, existed before commencing Operation
Test.
5. Online selection settings can be performed.
6. To differentiate Trip and Non Trip faults from facia
itself, "RED"LEDs for Trip and "YELLOW" LEDs
for Non Trip can be provided.

CONSTRUCTION
FRONT FACIA
Customer has choice of two sizes of windows
depending upon their facia description. It is made of
ABS plastic and illuminated by group of super bright
LEDs. LEDs have long life ( 108 hours ). Thus reduces
replacement cost of bulbs and also maintenance.
CONTROL CARD
All type of selections and Micro - Controller are
situated on this card. Sequence selection, NO/NC fault
contacts selection, Trip and Non-Trip audible selection
are provided by DIP Switch selection.
POWER SUPPLY UNITE
Power Supply Unit is available in two ranges.
A) 88-320 V AC/DC
B) 18-90V DC. These power supplies are designed
to work in extreme conditions.
FAULT SENSING TERMINEL
The fault or event sensing terminals provided,
depending upon number of channels at rear side.
PUSH BUTTONS
The built in membrane type Push buttons is
applicable only for Single Module. In multi-module Ann
-unciation the external push buttons are made common
to control whole annunciation system. Terminals for exte
-rnal Push buttons are provided on rear side.

AUDIO ALARM
One ‘NO’ type potential free relay contacts each
for actuating the external hooter for Trip and Non Trip
audible alarm. For Trip AT-AT and for Non-Trip AN-AN
legend is marked. ‘NO’ type potential free relay contacts
for Ring back (R) and Dome light facility are optional.

TESTS CARRIED OUT


ELECTRICAL
1. The equipment has been tested for High Voltage Test
2 KV AC between all terminals to body for 1 minute
as per IS 3231.
2. As per IS 8686 / 77 the equipment has been tested for
5 KV AC impulse test.
3. As per IS 8686 / 77 IEC 255 PART A/CLASS III
the Equipment has been tested for High frequency
disturbance test :-Longitudinal 2.5 KV and transverse
1KV test.
4. Power supply unit is tested for Over Voltage, Under
Voltage and short circuit protection.
5. Heat run test for 16 hours.

MECHANICAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL


1. Thermal shock test at 700 C for 30 minutes.
2. Accelerated ageing test for 72 hrs. at 90 0C as per
IS 9000/III/Sec 3/77.
3. As per IS 9000/79 damp heat test for 48 hrs, at 400C
at 95% RH..
4. As per IS 9000/7/64 bump test, 100 bumps / axes
about 1 bump per second.
5. Humidity test up to 95% RH.

INSTALLATION AND COMMISSIONING
1. Check for physical damage to the pack.
2. Check for physical damage to the unit.
3. Check number of Points / Windows, legend, power
supply marked on unit as per purchase order details.
4. Check all accessories such as mounting clamps ,
Operating manual. Also the optional accessories such
as Hooter, Buzzers, Bells etc.
5. Connect input supply as per mentioned on the unit.
6. Fault inputs are adjusted internally as per requirement
for NO or NC fault contacts.
7. Switch "ON" the supply to the unit after ensuring its
connections are as per Wiring Diagram. Initially do
not connect anything to the fault input terminals. If
the fault inputs are selected for NC type contacts,
then the corresponding windows will start flashing
and the hooter contact will close. If the fault inputs
are selected for " NO " type contacts, power supply
indication LED will glow. By pressing “Operational
Test” push button the window will start flashing and
the Audio contacts will close.
8. Now check the operating sequence as per the individu
-al sequence chart as shown in the following pages..

9. Now initiate individual faults by either shorting
the fault input terminals or by DIP Switch selection.
On doing so every corresponding window should
flash and audio should get ON. Proceed further as
per sequences selected.

10. To change the legends, remove the window cover


from front side gently by using thumb as shown
in the diagram on the next page.

11. Then use mounting clamps provided with the unit


for mounting the unit on the control panel.

12. Connect the NO type push buttons externally.

13. Connect various fault contact cables to the input


terminals of the unit.

14. Connect the input supply wires and switch on the


supply.

15. Now check the functioning of the unit by pressing


“Operational test”,“Silence”,“Accept” and “Reset”
push buttons sequentially.

16. Now the unit is ready for operation.
