At the end of the course students should be able to
 Demonstrate the mechanism of steady and unsteady heat transfers and extended surfaces.
 Analyse internal flow and external flow in forced and natural convection mode of heat transfer
and apply the principles in various applications.
 Evaluate the boiling and condensation phase change heat transfer and sizing of heat exchangers.
 Compute radiative heat transfer in black body and grey body with effect of shape factor in real
time applications
 Appraise the basic concepts of mass transfer
