PROGRAM ON BEHAVIORAL EVENT INTERVIEWING

After having discussion with Ms. Suman Kitawat, HR Department from Jumio India, Udaipur on
23rd April 2019, regarding designing and conducting training workshop from Manvin Consulting
Inc. Udaipur on Situation and Behavioural Event Interviewing. Based on these discussions,
Manvin Consulting Inc. is pleased to submit a proposal for the same.

INTRODUCTION

“People are hired for their skills and usually fired for their attitude for work.”. Getting the best
fit person for the position is crucial. Technical knowledge and skills are easily tested with
traditional tests and are evident from job experience, but evaluation of attitude and behaviour is
difficult nut to crack. Behavioural Event Interviewing(BEI) offers this advantage over the
traditional method of interviewing .BEI attempts to uncover the past performance by asking
open-ended questions that require the interviewee to describe in detail past experiences which
demonstrate their attitude and behaviour to perform any task .This is a tested program and has
been run at a number of organizations with variations customized according to the need of the
organisation.

The contents of the program will be:

1. Understanding the concept of Competency.

2. Designing the Behavioural Indicators for the competency assessment.

3. Introduction of BEI with its importance and advantages.

4. The BEI Framework.

5. How to code the data.

6. The behavioural Interviewing Technique.

7. Art of asking the questions.

OUTCOMES
1. Assessing the real time and actual competencies of the candidate.
2. Matches the candidate as right fit for the job.
3. Makes candidate comfortable and works well for introvert candidates.
4. Specific and past accomplishments are taken out from the candidate from previous roles.
5. Better decision process as lot of information is taken through BEI.

METHODOLOGY

This program is based on instrumental learning and therefore it will be highly interactive. Role-
play, Case study method, presentations and Mock interview sessions will be conducted to enable
the interviewer to learn the concept and practice of BEI.

DURATION: Two days

BATCH SIZE: 20-25 persons

COMMERCIAL TERMS:

Professional Charges: Investment will be INR 30,000 per day for design and conduct of the
program.

Course Material: INR 200 per participant

GST as applicable

VENUE AND OTHER ARRANGEMENTS:

Jumio India, Udaipur needs to arrange for:

Suitable venue having indoor conference facilities and some outside space conducive to outdoor
activities.

1. Audio visual aids in conference rooms, like LCD projector, Screen, Computer, Flip chart
and white board with markers etc.

2. It is assumed that the program will be in Udaipur and in case the program is at some
location then return air travel will be extra and all the incidental expenses will be borne
by Jumio India.

ADVANCE:
An advance of 50% of the total bill for the program will be payable to Manvin
Consulting Inc. on approval of this proposal. This advance will be adjusted in final
billing.

CANCELLATION:

In case Jumio India,Udaipur cancels the program the billing will be
regulated as follows:
21 Days before commencement of program – no billing
15 Days before commencement of program – 25% billing
07 Days before commencement of program – 50% billing
Within 7 days of commencement of program – 100% billing

PAYMENT SCHEDULE:
Manvin Consulting Inc. will raise invoice after the program is over. Jumio India,Udaipur will
clear the payment and send the cheque payable to Manvin Consulting Inc within 6 working
days of receiving the invoice or electronically transfer the money in to Manvin Consulting
Inc’s bank account, details of which will be provided later.

VALIDITY:
a. The commercial proposal is valid till 31st July 2019
b. The rates in this proposal are specially arrived at and will not have any bearing on the rates,
which Manvin Consulting Inc may propose for any other intervention.

ABOUT THE FACILITATOR(S):

Mr. Vinod Verma


An alumnus of Harvard Business School, Mr. Vinod Verma is an Electrical Engineer and
MBA in HR. Moving to HRD from factory operations (for 14 years) in SAIL, he rose to the
position of General Manager at SAIL corporate HR. He moved in 1996 as Head of Corporate
Human Resource and Information Technology functions as Sr. Vice President in Wockhardt
where he worked till 2001. In 2002 he joined Sum Amicus Consultants as its founder CEO,
and managing partner of Manvin Consulting Inc. in 2012.

An NIPM gold medallist, he has been involved with paper, manufacturing, IT, IT Enabled
services, Telecom, Steel, Construction, Pharmaceuticals, Banking, Automobile, Aluminium,
Zinc, Copper, Advertising, Entertainment, Mining, Switchgear and Power sectors in running
training courses and HR consulting assignments. He has also worked as a trainer and HR

consultant in the UK and Egypt. He also has developed expertise in
designing and implementing HR systems like PMS, 360 degree appraisal, Development
Centres, Recruitment Systems, Various Psychometric instruments etc.

With more than 35 years of experience, he has unquenched passion for competency building
and HR consulting. He has designed and conducted development programs in technical and
behavioural areas. In behavioural areas he has designed and run programs like leadership,
team building, creativity and problem solving, networking skills, time management,
communication, presentation skills, transactional analysis, goal setting, performance
management, conflict management, mentoring, counselling and feedback skills, and
many more. He took training under Edward De Bono in the art of thinking and creativity

Dr. Manisha Agarwal


With a Doctoral degree in Human Resource Management, Dr. Manisha Agarwal is a
behaviour science expert and Corporate Trainer and an academician with 15 years of
experience in training and development area. In academics world she teaches management
and organizational behaviour. She is also a certified assessor from TV Rao Learning Systems
(TVRLS), Bangalore and has successfully conducted exercises on Assessment and
Development Centre and Competency Mapping for many clients in corporate and academic
world.

She is Student Counsellor at IIM Udaipur. She has also designed and conducted workshops
on behaviour change like leadership development, Team building, communication skills, e-
mail management, office communication, presentation skills, developing positive attitude,
motivation, time management, goal setting, performance management, conflict management,
counselling and feedback skills, and so on.
