Fluidics

Check for evidence of leaking around all tubing connections.

Remove the probe rinse station. Clean it internally.
Open the rinse station. Inspect and clean the filter and o-ring at bottom.
Open the rinse-jet chambers at the top. Clean the rinse jets and o-rings.
Reassemble the rinse station, ensure proper seal and put it back in place.
Replace the Peri-pump tubing.
Inspect the Wash Manifold, clean and flush the tubes.
Replace the Check Valves for washer syringe pump tubing.
Replace Check Valve for probe rinse pump.
Inspect/Clean wash manifold drip tray.
Inspect/Clean well sensor pins.
Inspect 100ul and 1000ul syringes for leaks, replace if necessary.
Inspect/Replace inlet filter.
Inspect the prime holder strips, replace as necessary.
Hardware
Inspect the probe. Clean and apply Deoxit to ensure a good LLD signal from
the probe to the level sense PCB.
Check all the timing belts, for fraying and cracking, replace as necessary.
Clean all surfaces, do not wipe lubricant off the linear ways.
Inspect and clean scanner mirrors.
Inspect all racks and trays for damage.
Inspect Centrifuge housing and interior, open the window and clean if
necessary.
Inspect/Clean cabinet fans and ensure they work properly.
Remove the Camera Reader from the instrument. Open the right side of the
module.
Clean the Camera mirror and lens.
Remove the dust from the inside of the housing.

Verifications

Robot Verification

Verify Robot Autocal positions, run ROBOT AUTOCAL VERIFY.ICL

Run TEST SHAKE.ICL and observe with a tachometer that the performance
is as expected

660 rpm (Linear shake) 300 rpm (Orbital shake)

Tacho. reading
Acceptable range 627-693 285-315

Incubator Verification

Place Tempa-dots in a strip holder and run the LOAD INCUBATOR TEST.ICL
Wait at least 20 minutes: further tasks can be performed in the meantime
Run the UNLOAD INCUBATOR TEST.ICL Verify the incubator performance
and record the values
Measured
Bay Number
Temp(C)
Forced air chamber
Still air chamber (Bottom)
Still air chamber (Top)
Measured temperatures must be 38.5+1.0°C
Washer Verification

Run the WASH ACCURACY.ICL file and a precision balance to verify the
wash manifold dispense accuracy. Verify wash precision by visually
inspecting fill volume of the strips

Washer Accuracy (250µl) Strip 1 Strip 2

Weight of Empty Strip
Weight of Strip & Liquid
Weight of Liquid
Acceptable Range (g) 1.92 - 2.08 1.92 - 2.08

Run the RESIDUAL VOLUME.ICL file and use a precision balance to

determine the wash manifold residual volume in each strip.

Residual Volume Both strips

Weight of Strips
Acceptable Range (g) .06 - .16

un-checking the Instrument Gating box.
Run TEST PERI-PUMP.ICL file. Verify that the volume is within the
acceptable range.
Volume (g)
Measured Volume must be between 9.9 to 10.9 g
Turn Instrument Gating Back On.

Run the PROBE ACCURACY.ICL and verify that the volumes dispensed are
within the acceptable range.

Weight of Empty Strip
Weight of Strip &
Liquid
Weight of Liquid
Acceptable Range (g) .14-.18 .29-.35 .36-.44 .72-.88

Centrifuge Verification

Run CENTRIFUGE TEST.ICL. Observe with a tachometer the performance is

Camera Verification

Run the CAMERA ALIGN.ICL using two CMT strips (with barcode IDs). Mark
X’s in the bottom of each well in both strips.
Observe that the focus and alignment is acceptable.
Refer to chapter 6 ‘Alignments and Calibrations – section 1.3.4 Camera
Alignment’ of Service Manual to make any necessary adjustments.

Qualification with Application Software

Install the top cover. Run the control software and verify that the instrument
runs with the top cover in place

Recheck for leaking at all plumbing connections
