3 - Working :

Phase 1 (no action)

R
N L B

The pressure from the accumulator block arrives on P. The ball prevents the oil to pass because it is
maintained on its seat.

Pilot line (L) is connected to the tank return (N) because it does not use the master cylinder.

Phase 2 (the driver starts the action)

R
N L B

P
70

When the driver begins to push on the brake pedal, all components are in contact. In this case, the LS
line is cut (L).

The master cylinder is ready to send the pressure toward the brake with the assistance.

Phase 3 (during the action)

R
N L B

When the driver pushes completely the brake pedal, the piston moves and the ball does not stop the
oil. In this case, the pressure is sent to help the driver.

In the same time, the master cylinder sends a pilot pressure toward the flow divider to have the priority
on braking.

The flow of the pump comes in Ppv.
The priority valve (Item 4) is normally closed, so the flow of oil is directed towards the accumulators by
the pressure reducers (Item 1 and 2).

Max. pressure in Pp2 = 40b:

– Master cylinder assistance + distributor control.

Max. pressure in Pp1 = 75b:

– Parking brake.

When the pressure reaches 61 b in Pp1, the valve will be controlled and will connect the priority valve
control to the tank as a priority (Item 4). So the priority valve will run and the flow of oil will power the fan.

The control reduction valve (Item 6) allows you to keep pressure on returning control if the accumulator
(0,7 L) is given a pressure of less than 30b. The hydraulic flow will be directed and forced to refill the
accumulator when the pressure is at 30b. Therefore, the control reduction valve (Item 6) is controlled
and the control will be connected to the tank.

Relief valve 3 (Item 5) is installed as a preventative measure if the priority valve (Item 4) is blocked so that
the pump is protected and to avoid the engine from blocking.

Inspection

– 1- Decompress the brake assistance line by pressing the pedal about 20 times.

– 2- Locate the U2 line between the master cylinder and the accumulator unit.

– 3- Disconnect this line and fit a T equipped with a pressure test port.

– 4- Connect a manometer of at least 40 bars (check that you are definitely on the U line).

– 5- Start the machine; turn the wheel until the steering cylinders have stopped.

– 6- The accumulator needs to charge to up to 40 bars. Turn the machine off.

– 7- Wait a few minutes to see if the pressure stays at 40 bars.

If ok, continue the inspection, otherwise you have a fault in the seal coming from the unit.

– 8- Count the number of times you have to press the pedal (between 15 and 20) before the pressure
falls to 0.

If the pressure drops in increments, the accumulator is in a good state.

70
If the pressure drops to 0 after the first or second time you press the brake pedal, the accumulator’s
membrane has been pierced.

Operation :

The steering column shifts the control valve control slide (1) in relation to the control jacket (2). This
opens an annular section between slide and jacket. Hydraulic fluid is then applied to the rotor assembly
(3) thus starting movement. The rotor assembly sends fluid to the steering cylinder. Rotor rotation acts
on the jacket, driving the slide rotating movement.
The open section depends on the steering wheel speed of rotation and steering circuit pressure. If the
steering movement is interrupted, the slide stops and fluid continues to flow through the open section
to the rotor. This has the effect of continuing to turn the rotor and the jacket as a result. The rotating
movement then closes the opening section and the rotor stops at the desired position along with the
steering cylinder. The centring spring (4) brings slide and jacket to a mutually neutral position and holds
them in that position.
The pressure limiter (5) limits steering circuit pressure.
Two damper valves (6) protect the steering cylinder L and R orifices. If one of these valves is activated,
the re-supply valve (7) directs discharged fluid to the opposite side, or replenishes the reservoir drainage
fluid.
In a case of hydraulic pump failure, the LAGU module operates as a manual pump, where cylinder pressure
opens the shut-off valve (10) and links up a number of back pressure chambers with the return path (not
in circuit). Non-return valves (11) and (12) prevent the linking up of the out-of-circuit chambers with the
in-circuit chambers. Rotor capacity is thus reduced by the volume of the chambers rendered off circuit.
Re-supply valve (8) draws up the reservoir piping fluid, while the non-return valve (9) prevents the
drawing in of air through the pump orifice (P). In normal operation this same valve ensures that any
significant external forces do not cause shocks on the steering wheel.

6 HYDRAULIC CONTROL AND ADJUSTMENT

VIC OPERATION

Role:

The compensating cylinder enables the tool clamp to be in a constant tilt position in relation to the plane
of the frame during a lifting/lowering movement (for example, to maintain a fork in horizontal position).

This compensating cylinder, located on the side of the boom, subjects the boom to lateral torsional stress.

Operation:

In order to deal with this problem, in the absence of a lifting/lowering movement, the compensating
cylinder is isolated from the tilting cylinder on the clamp using two electrovalves (Y64-Y80) that are
powered.

The safety of this system means that compensation is ensured in the event of an electrovalve open
circuit (CO) or short circuit to ground (CC Gnd) fault.

When the engine is stopped, the cylinder is not insulated in order to preserve electrical energy.

NOTE:

The distributor (Y70 to Y73) and compensating cylinder electrovalves (Y64 and Y80) are powered using
Manimux Power 1 electrical management.

LEVELING CYLINDER

70
Key:
- A: Leveling cylinder.
- B: Lifting cylinder rod locking wedge

PREPARATION AND SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS

Stabilize the machine on level ground.

Without the leveling cylinder and on level ground, the machine leans towards the engine side. It is
therefore essential to carefully wedge the machine before removing the leveling system.

Before fully unscrewing a hose coupling, detach the hose from the coupling to which it is attached to
check that there is no residual pressure in the circuit.
For the correct operation of the machine after repair, it is
recommended to plug all open sections of the hydraulic circuit.

Raise the boom to mid-height and secure it using the lifting cylinder
rod locking wedge (Item B).

Specific tooling: B

– Floor crane or hoist + slings.

– A drift of approximately the same length as the leveling cylinder
head pivot pin.

NOTE:

Volume of the oil tank: 175 Liters.

b Use a clean container and funnel and clean the underside

of the oil drum before filling.

Fill up with oil through the filler port (Item 17).

Observe the oil level on the dipstick (Item 18); the oil level should
be at the level of the black point.
Check for any possible leaks at the drain plug.
17
Re-fit the filler plug (Item 19).

HYDRAULIC CIRCUIT DECONTAMINATION

19 Let the engine run (accelerator pedal at mid position) for

5 minutes without using any accessories on the lift truck, then
for 5 more minutes while using all the hydraulic movements
(except the steering system and the service brakes).
Accelerate the engine at full speed for 1 minute, then activate
70

the steering system and the service brakes.

This operation makes a pollution abatement of the circuit
18 possible through the hydraulic return oil filter.
