Types of comparison

A. To a higher degree

The tower centre is busier than five years ago.

In our family, my mother drives the most carefully.

B. To the same degree-as …as

The tower centre is not ​as busy ​as five years ago.

C. In a lower degree ​with less + than

The tower centre is not ​less busy than​ five years ago.

My mother ​drives​ ​the least carefully.​.


One syllable adjectives and adverbs​- fast- faster -fastest/ hot- hotter-hottest

Three syllable adjectives and adverbs- ​expensive- more expensive- most expensive

Exceptions

two syllable adjectives and adverbs- earlier- earliest

She is usually here earlier than this.

Mary is the earliest to arrive this morning.

Not as – as
