Business Plan

She didn’t have any professional business plans. She gets primary ideas from another dairy firm
businessman and without that she also gains knowledge and ideas from the internet. After knowing
everything she planned 2 to 3 months about the business and it’s set up.

She considered a few things about the business:

• Structure

For dairy firm business a fixed structure which is called Shed for the cows, this shed doesn’t require a lot
of money. To set up this it should be in a very good place with proper ventilation of air.

•Target Customers

Local customers are the target customers of the business. Grocery shops, sweet shops, local Bazar and
town’s people are also considered as target customers.

•Competitor Analysis

There are a few numbers of competitors in the area. To survive in the market, firstly the price and
quality of the products should be understood.

•Financial Analysis

Establishing plants, buying cattle, buying initially feed for the cows are the main expenses.

•Operational activities

Cleaning the plants, regular checkups, medical checkups, feeding the cows are the regular activities.

Critical Success Factor

She mentioned that everyone in her area is doing the same business for the years. So, she planned
something different following things.

-Providing actual quality and quantity.

-providing milk in regular times.

-No mixed water or preservation.

-Return policy for the customers. (If customers find any fault in the milk)

-Maintaining a good relationship with the customer and also provide a packaging system.
Challenges of the businesses

Starting up a business is not too easy. There were a lot of challenges in this business she had to face.

- As she is a graduate lady and government primary school teacher so that her family didn’t agree
with her business idea. Then somehow, she had to manage her family and make them understand her
plan.

- Managing funds was very difficult for her to manage as there was a lack of family support. She
had to take a small amount of loan from Krishi Bank’ with little interest. It was helpful for her.

- Lack of proper knowledge was also a great obstacle for her to full fill her plan. Firstly, she hadn’t
any idea how to look after the cattle. The Internet and tv shows help her a lot with this research.

- Time management was also a great challenge for her. As she was a primary school teacher. So,
she had to manage both school and her business plan.

- Hiring skill full workers was also not so easy for her to find out to fill full her business plan.

Challenges an Entrepreneur Face

As Selina Akter is a new entrepreneur so she also faces the challenges are as follow:

- Delegating task

- Marketing strategy

- Capital

- Support and confidence

- Business growth

Risk and Mitigation Plan

Mrs. Selina Akter said that most of the risk in this business is related to health and safety. Virus attack is
very much dangerous for this business because if any cattle get attack by virus then it might also be a big
threat for the rest of the cattle.
• Risk: Biggest risk is a virus attack

~ Mitigation Plan: Clean the shed and vaccination regularly.

•Risk: Death of cattle during the birth of a calf

~ Mitigation Plan: Regular checkups and monitoring them properly during that time.

•Risk: Thefts issues

~Mitigation Plan: Providing high security.
