leadership is always important. The leadership has features that ensure the effectiveness of
task, projects or function is done in its essence such that for instance if it is a business project,
leadership would ensure that people of the team that came from diverse fields such as
accounts, manager, technical personnel, finance person, spokesman or any other role, all
work together to achieve a common goal and this is therefore important in the modern
environment because it ensures that the desired goals will be achieved because of the
planning and most importantly strict scrutinized instructions. However, after the very “need”
of leadership, the key consideration is to ensure the effective leadership is taking place. There
is a quality skill set which ensures the traits of leadership that make it an effective leadership
in essence [ CITATION ByS17 \l 2057 ]. The article demonstrates the qualities of effective
The main outcome and benefits of effective leadership include the fact that an effectiveness
in leadership results in benefits. Benefits for leader, for the team mates to whom the
leadership is creating an influence and the relevant project, function or business on which it is
taking place. As it is needless to mention that the goal of a project or business are oriented in
relation to performance of more than on person such as for a construction project analyst,
accountant, labour, supervisor, manager and various other technical personnel such as
engineer who are core technical experts to the project are required and this mix is required to
deliver the desired project. When a leader can ensure the mix is right and is able to deliver the
output as desired by working at one platform the results are more reliable and more
convincing than in any other way. [ CITATION Har14 \l 2057 ] in the article has emphasized
on the fact that leaders are persuasive rather than manipulative and this can highlight that
effectiveness of leadership is based on the skill set and capability set of a leader.
The topic statement endorsed that the communication skills in relation to technical expertise
are secondary for an effective leadership. This argument is ranking and prioritizing the traits
of effectiveness in a leadership to which I m not convinced and I do not agree to the context
in which it is made on the key ground that demonstrate the importance of communication
skills to a great extent that even the knowledge and expertise can go un realized.
Relation of leading with the technical knowledge and expertise can be seen in the way that
leader leads on the basis of knowing more than one can do [ CITATION Wan15 \l 2057 ].
[ CITATION And171 \l 2057 ] highlights that providing some procedure half true or half
applicable procedures to the problems or as plans of action is not the trait that can lead to
effective leadership instead there is always a need to have a product insight deepest
knowledge that can make leader articulate the possible solutions that are applicable with a

knowledge more than what people are asking for. Just being able to give a feedback is not
enough and then it highlighted that one still should discuss the alternate solutions and
estimates for the betterment of knowledge they have as a leader. Moreover if a leader does
not have enough expert insights of a product or a project they are likely to let the team free
for making decision and so would be the results of the decisions without prior discussion
neither would there be a true definition of a leader fits because there is no example set by the
leader as one of the many key traits of a good leader is to become an example for the
followers instead of just delivering the instruction manual to them. Having knowledge less
As a leader, the major part of concern for the leader is to question the way system led to
encounter of an error or the loop hole in the plan instead of questioning the way
[ CITATION Art17 \l 2057 ]took the example of doctors managing a hospital v a business
person hired doctors and managed the hospital demonstrate the contrasting success of doctors
as managers. The need of society in this era is the development of leaders in the core expert
persons, knowledge is foremost here but the leading knowledge can prosper and benefit more
people. So, this does not deny the importance of technical knowledge in effective leadership.
But I believe the leadership wit technical expertise and no or insufficient communication
skills is of no effectiveness and is unlikely to produce the results that would actually be in
place when both the technical knowledge and best communication skills are wrapped up in
one picture.
Communication skills include the ability of a leader to motivate himself and others of the
functioning team to get up for the desired output without communicating this motivation it is
not possible for the leader to produce a good output or to ensure the motivation level of other

team workers. The skills development in the team mates, their approaches to critical thinking,
problem solving skill and ability, technical know-how, delegation, skill set development and
other attributes that are concern in fact major concern of effectiveness in leadership are all
able for the leader to develop if he has to required robust set of communication skills.
Leadership is the development of future leaders as well and when it comes to the
development of other leaders the communication is important as it will help leader convey the
desired task though not just by endorsing but by practice but the skill set is important that can

SELF-REFLECTIVE SUMMARY
I as part of my role in the field found that I though have a good set of knowledge and expert
in preparing projects for my clients. The technical expertise for me is quite important as it is
the ground on which the whole service is dependent but when client come with challenges I
found that the main focus that I always had was to ensure that I have the back end sound
knowledge base of the projects so that I can deliver the solution or even if can provide advice.
Giving a vague solution does not affect me but my leadership skills won’t make their way out
if is lack knowledge and this is something, I found most important almost un comprisable. On
the other hand, I found that communication is a key that can make or break the way I am
operating the projects at the desired scale. The project management for me was that I
normally can provide feedback on the potential projects but still I have to give a time for
ascertaining the insight of the project and then I have to discuss it with client I have to let
them know the probable pros and cons of the desired actions. As the selection of actions such

as reduction of costs of a sudden cost cut can results are delicate matters, I have to make sure
that the technical expertise I have are able to convey the same level of advice because only
this can assure me the effectiveness of my personal leadership traits. The topic statement
endorsed as that the communication skills in relation to technical expertise are secondary for
prioritizing the traits of effectiveness in a leadership to which I’m not convinced and I do not
agree to the context in which it is made on the key ground that demonstrate the importance of
communication skills to a great extent that even the knowledge and expertise can go un
