Film analysis

The short film title’s “My Shoes” was written and directed by Nima Raoofi and release on year
2012. There are 3 cast in the film namely Nick Robins, the ragged boy, Ned Baulderstone, the other
boy, and Christine the old lady. The movie illustrates a particular moral lesson in life. The short file
portraits a fable that teach everyone especially the kids to appreciate what we have and be thankful
with it.

There was a boy with a ragged cloth and torn up shoes who sits on the bench with
unsatisfactory on his face. He walk around the park and return on the bench and saw a wealth boy
with a brand new shoes. He runs away with a feeling of a little bit of jealousies and sat down on a
tree and wishes to become the wealth boy with a new sneakers. The wish was granted and they
eventually switch places and sadly he learn that the wealth boy was unable to walk.

The short film was impressive and the execution was good. The actors did a great job on their
acting skills, they were in character and it was realistic. The music and its timing bring outs the
emotion of the short film, the mood of the music was perfectly match with the sceneries and the
theme of the film. For the visual effects like the flying bird and his falling feather and the transition of
the worlds was fair enough. The costume was really reflect its characters. But they were lacking on
subtitles even they have short script because there are parts that I could barely hear and understand.
It will be better when they have one.

After watching the short film the message and emotion makes me realise again that I should
love and appreciate what I have today. Never to forget to give thanks to blessing he gives and the
most important thing is to give and share to those who need the most.
