- On the HA window pick and click on the “select” option and then right click on the drawing

window then click on the polyline then press enter button. This will give you the IP points. Press
Apply
- To change to desired format click on the option button

- We are through with HA, save the drawing and we start on the VA
VERTICAL ALIGNMENT
Go to Roads – Vertical Alignment

On vertical alignment is divided into;

i. The drawing area – the main area(the black screen)


ii. The existing ground data table(topo) - the table from the left down
iii. The designed data table – the right bottom table
iv. The function window – the window on the right

Data Arrangement
In vertical alignment, this is where we feed in the topo data and the design data

Feeding in data, both topo and design can be done in two ways;

i. Typing them in one by one,


ii. Loading from text file

Loading from text file is the most appropriate and time saving.

Topo

Vertical alignment requires the CL line data only. Arrange your data as in the table below

Save the data into a note pad format as shown below


On vertical Alignment you can only load data when it’s on Note Pad format.

After saving the notepad, go to CivilCAD – Vertical Alignment and click on `Load section from a text
file`

Select where you saved your notepad upload and Apply

Do the same for the design
