CONTEXT CLUES

Writers include words or phrases to help with the understanding of unknown words
or expressions.

These words or expressions are referred to as context clues, synonyms,


definitions, examples and inferences are important to deduce the meaning of these
unfamiliar words.

It is impossible for you to know the exact meaning of every word you read, but
developing your guessing ability you will often to understand enough to arrive at
the total meaning of a sentence or paragraph.
