(CHILD PROTECTION UNIT)

Application is invited for the post of Chairperson and Six Members of Delhi Commission for
Protection of Child Rights constituted u/s 17 of the Commissions for Protection of Child Rights
Act, 2005 for the National Capital territory of Delhi.

The Commission exercises the powers conferred upon it under the above said Act and Rules for
speedy trial of offences against children or of violation of Child Rights and for matters connected
therewith or incidental thereto.

1. Qualifications of Chairperson: - Should be a person of eminence and has done

outstanding work for promoting the welfare of children; and
2. Qualifications of Members: - Should be persons of eminence, ability, integrity,standing
and experience in- (i) Education, (ii) Child health, care, welfare or child development, (iii)
Juvenile Justice or Care of neglected or marginalized children or children with disabilities,
(iv) Elimination of Child Labour or dealing with children in distress, (v) Child Psychology
or sociology and (vi) Law relating to children.

2. Following important points may be noted:

a) No person having any past record of violation of human rights or child rights shall be eligible for
appointment as the Chairperson/Members.
b) Every Chairperson/Members shall hold office, as such, for a term of three years from the date on
which he/she assumes office provided that no Chairperson shall hold office as such after he/she
has attained the age of 65 years and in case of Members, the age of 60 years.
c) The Chairperson/Members may by writing under his hand addressed to the Government resign at
any time.
d) In case of retired government servants, the pay will be fixed in accordance with the prevailing
orders i.e. last pay drawn minus pension. In case of public figures, the amount will be Rs.
2,00,000/- p.m. consolidated for the Chairperson and Rs. 1,00,000/- p.m. consolidated for each
Member.
e) There is no provision for hiring/allotment of a house or of House Rent Allowance.
f) The clause for removal from office and other relevant details may kindly be seen in the
Commissions for Protection of Child Rights Act, 2005 and the Delhi Commission for Protection of
Child Rights Rules, 2008.
g) The candidate shall not take up any other assignment fully or partially or otherwise.
h) She/he will not enter into any such activity which may constitute conflict of interest.

3. Procedure for applying:

Interested persons may download advertisement from official website www.wcddel.in and submit their
application online through website http://cams.wcddel.in/. Application shall be accepted w.e.f
11.05.2020 to 20.05.2020 ( UPTO 06:00 PM).
4. Applicants may note that misrepresentation of facts shall amount to
disqualification.
