TOOLS AND EQUIPMENT NEEDED
Cut-off Machine – is used to cut 2” pvc pipes

o a hacksaw or “lagaring bakal” is our proposed alternative tool; however, this would affect the build time of Sanitent.

Hacksaw blade – is used to strike the edges of the pvc pipes in order to increase the efficiency of the solvent cement in joining the pvc pip es to its
fittings.

Hand Drill – is used to screw the pvc strips and blue sack to the pvc pipes.

o a screwdriver is our proposed alternative tool; however, this would affect the build time of Sanitent.

LABOR QUOTATION

For those with skilled workers, this would take 1-2 persons (1 skilled, 1 helper) to build at a maximum of 1.5 days.

o Skilled (700.00php/day - 1,000.00php/day)

o Helper (550.00php/day - 650.00php/day)

For those who will be doing this themselves with no helper, this would take at a maximum of 3 days to build, but would be able to save up on the cost.
DISINFECTANT SOLUTION
(PLEASE READ CAREFULLY)

SANITENTS PH recommends that the Disinfectant Solution be prepared by a licensed chemist from your area. This must be STRICTLY observed.

Our Chemistry Team will relay detailed instructions, enumerating all the needed materials and the steps for preparation through the process outlined below. For
the first part of operation, protocols and details about the solution may only be procured by qualified professionals. This is in order to avoid misuse and to prevent
the wider public from panic-buying.

In order to apply for the disinfectant details, please take note of the following extra steps :

For LOCAL GOVERNMENT UNITS (LGU):

I. If you have registered under our contacts, please wait for a SaniTent PH representative to contact you.

II. If you were not able to register, please contact us via Ms. Deborah S. Nicdao at deborahnicdao@gmail.com and CC: publicservice.sanitents.ph@gmail.com

III. LGUs will be referred to contact the assigned REGIONAL HEAD from the SaniTents Chemistry Team. Regional Heads have a masterlist of the professional
volunteers who are qualified to instruct LGUs on how to prepare the solution. These volunteers are chemists, chemical technicians and people from related
fields with adequate knowledge in solution preparation. The Regional Head will direct these volunteers to the LGU.

- For LGUs which have no volunteers, the LGU should recruit a resident chemist or chemical technician. In the absence of such, chemical
engineers and professionals from other allied professionals will do. The SaniTents Chemistry Team will not procure protocols unless a qualified
professional is referred.

IV. LGU is to communicate with the endorsed REGIONAL HEAD who will then refer volunteer/s along with his/her/their contact details. In addition, the LGU
must answer the Google Form to obtain necessary information. Link: tinyurl.com/sanitentsLGU FROM THEN ON, COMMUNICATION WILL BE BETWEEN
LGU AND VOLUNTEER/S

V. The REGIONAL HEAD will deploy the volunteers. With them are the instructions which they will transmit to the LGUs for the preparation of the solution for
use in the SaniTents. These contain:

A. Material Checklists - inclusive of estimated costs

**Please take note that LGUs are responsible for procurement and expenses. Volunteers will only be mobilized as soon as the materials
are completed for 1)Tent, 2) Diffuser and 3) Chemical Solution.**
B. Instruction Manual with Safety Data Sheet (written in both English and Filipino)
C. Relevant Literature regarding the Solution.
D. A Letter of Agreement to be signed by LGU and volunteer
E. A document entailing responsibilities of both LGU and volunteer

For HOSPITALS and PRIVATE ENTITIES:

1. Completely answer the Google Form: tinyurl.com/SaniTents-PrivateEntity

2. Contact any one of these SaniTents PH Chemistry Team members. Rest assured that they will be coordinating with you promptly:

About SaniTents PH

SaniTents PH is an idea which was concretized and put into work by hundreds of concerned, knowledgeable, and capable individuals.

SaniTents PH mandate is that of Urgency, Efficiency, and Inclusivity.

Specifically, SaniTents PH wants to:

1. create sanitation corridors, or SaniTents, which are:

(a) safe and effective in disinfecting persons passing thru the product;
(b) user-friendly, durable, and long-lasting;
(c) easily replicable in public spaces, considering costs and physical constraints.

2. to make the idea available for general consumption, with emphasis on the actions of Local Government Units (LGUs).

3. to encourage a culture of cooperation and correct social distancing in the climate set by COVID-19.

In order to put this into concrete action, the team has conceptualized SaniTents to have 3 main components: Structure, Diffuser, and Disinfectant
Solution.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

Booth Frame

Q: Can we use other material aside from PVC Pipe?

A: Yes, as long as it will make the booth sturdy and stable.

Q: Can we use Galvanized Iron or any other metal in lieu of PVC Pipes?
A: Yes, but we recommend plastic material to avoid corrosion.

Q: Our area is windy and it causes the booth to sway. What should we do?
A: Place strings on both sides to prevent swaying (same concept with tents).

Q: Can we use a smaller size of PVC piping?

A: We do not recommend smaller sizes of PVC Pipes. As much as possible, use 50 mm or 2 inches in diameter pipes and fittings.

Q: Can we make a smaller booth? We think that the area of 1.5m x 1.5m might be too large for a single person and is costly.
A: Yes, you can. However, we recommend that you follow what is designed because it complies with an architectural clearance standard (1.5 m)
which accommodates Persons With Disabilities (PWDs).

Q: For the PVC Curtain Strip, can we use a normal plastic cover?
A: Yes.

Q: Can we use any thickness of plastic cover?

A: Yes, but we recommend at least 1mm.

Q: Are there any alternatives for the plastic enclosure?

A: Yes. You can use trapal, tarpaulin, garbage bag, celluloid, or anything that could enclose the booth.

Q: For the anti-slip matting, what do you recommend?

A: Dog house flooring
Q: What is the recommended maintenance practice?
A: Always ensure the drip tray is drained once the day ends and the whole booth is washed with clean water.

Q: Can we upgrade the design?

A: Definitely. We classify our design as “open-source”. Anyone who wants to build our design can revise it as one deems necessary for their area.

Knapsack Sprayer (Garden Sprayer)

Q: Can we use any garden sprayer?

A: Yes, but we recommend the Knapsack sprayer that has a micro-misting feature.

Chemical Solution

Q: When will you release the information about the chemical solution?
A: We are just ironing out the details. Please stay tuned for more updates.
