The National Institute of Technology Warangal The Department of Metallurgical and Materials
(NITW), an Institute of National Importance Engineering (MME) was established in the year 1965
(formerly known as Regional Engineering College and presently offers an Undergraduate program in
Warangal, RECW) was established in the year MME and two Postgraduate programs with
1959. The institute offers 8 undergraduate specialization in Industrial Metallurgy and Materials
programmes in Engineering and 29 Postgraduate Technology. The department also offers Ph.D.
programmes in Engineering and Sciences. All the program in cutting edge areas of technology in
Departments of the institute conduct research metallurgical engineering and materials. The
programmes leading to Ph.D. degrees. The institute department is well equipped with state-of-the-art
was ranked 26 among engineering institutes all over facilities and has been accredited continuously by
