What is Emirates NBD DoubleSecure?
Emirates NBD DoubleSecure is an online authentication tool to give you an
added security feature and peace of mind every time you purchase online at
any participating Verified by Visa / MasterCard SecureCode merchant’s website
using your Emirates NBD Debit or Credit Card. This feature ensures that only
you can complete an online transaction using your Emirates NBD Debit or
Credit Card by requiring you to enter a one time Authentication Code sent to
your registered mobile number and/ or email address, every time you make
an online transaction on participating websites. Participating websites can be
identified by the Verified by Visa / MasterCard SecureCode logos that will be
displayed on the payment page.This helps in minimizing risk of fraudulent
online transactions on your Card.
This additional security feature is offered at no cost to you.
How does Emirates NBD DoubleSecure work?
Emirates NBD DoubleSecure provides you with a one-time Authentication
Code to protect your online transactions.
• Select the goods or services you want from a Verified by Visa/ MasterCard®
SecureCode™ certified online store and proceed to the payment page.
• Enter your Emirates NBD Debit/ Credit Card number, expiry date, and
CVV/CVC in the payment page.
• Emirates NBD will then initiate an Emirates NBD DoubleSecure pop-up
window on your computer screen.
• Enter your DoubleSecure Authentication Code sent as an SMS/Email
to the registered mobile number / email address with Emirates NBD to
confirm your identity to the merchant.
Your payment is authorized and your order is placed. It’s that simple!
Why should I sign up for Emirates NBD DoubleSecure?
Emirates NBD offers comprehensive fraud protection, but Emirates NBD
DoubleSecure goes a step further, adding an extra layer of security. The
service helps prevent unauthorized online use before it happens by confirming
your identity with an additional Authentication Code. When you correctly
enter your Authentication Code during a purchase at a participating online
merchant, you confirm that you are the authorized cardholder and your
purchase is then completed. If an incorrect Code is entered, the purchase will
not be completed. Even if someone knows your credit or debit card number,
the purchase cannot be completed without your Authentication Code at a
participating merchant.
Do I need to register my Emirates NBD Card?
Every time you use your Emirates NBD Card for online transactions at a
participating MasterCard® SecureCode™ /Verified by Visa merchant, you
will automatically be prompted to enter your Emirates NBD DoubleSecure
Authentication Code. Just follow the below simple steps:
• Enter your card number, expiry date and CVV/CVC (the 3 digit number
on the reverse of your Card) in the payment page.
• An Emirates NBD DoubleSecure Pop –up window will appear on
your computer screen and you will be required to enter the 8 digit
Authentication Code sent as an SMS and email on your registered mobile
number/ email address with Emirates NBD.
You are now ready to complete your online purchase with your card while
enjoying added protection.
Can I use Emirates NBD DoubleSecure from any computer?
Emirates NBD DoubleSecure works with just about any computer that’s
connected to the Internet. There is no special software to install. Once you
activate your card, you’ll continue to shop as usual, and your Emirates NBD
card number will be automatically recognized at checkout. Just enter your
Emirates NBD DoubleSecure Authentication Code and complete the regular
checkout process. Please be advised software which prevents pop-up windows
may interfere with your use of Emirates NBD DoubleSecure.
What happens if I shop at a merchant website not registered for
Verified by Visa/MasterCard® SecureCode™?
When buying from merchants who are not yet participating in Verified by Visa/
MasterCard® SecureCode™, you will not be prompted for your Emirates
NBD DoubleSecure Authentication Code. You can continue your purchase,
however transacting without the additional security offered by Emirates NBD
DoubleSecure is based on your judgement of whether that is a trusted site or not.
What if I already have a DoubleSecure password for online transactions
today? Do I still receive a new DoubleSecure Authentication Code?
Your existing DoubleSecure password is no longer valid. You will receive a new
DoubleSecure Authentication Code which will replace your current password.
A new DoubleSecure Authentication Code will be sent to you every time you
purchase online at any participating Verified by Visa / MasterCard SecureCode
merchant’s website. This Authentication Code will be sent to you by SMS
on your registered mobile number and as an email to your registered email
address.
Can I opt to continue to use the existing DoubleSecure password
instead of receiving a new DoubleSecure authentication code?
The existing DoubleSecure password will no longer be valid and a new
DoubleSecure Authentication Code will be sent to you on your registered
mobile number / email address every time you purchase online from any
participating Verified by Visa / MasterCard SecureCode merchant’s’ website.
This further enhances security for online transactions, as only you will have
access to the Authentication Code required to complete the transaction.
Will I receive a DoubleSecure authentication code for all my online
purchases?
No, you will only receive a DoubleSecure authentication code only for online
purchase(s) / payments at any participating Verified by Visa / MasterCard
SecureCode merchants.
How do I differentiate the normal online purchase(s) from the
online purchases made at Verified by Visa / MasterCard SecureCode
merchant?
You will be able to see the logos of MasterCard SecureCode & Verified by Visa
as follows when you are performing the online transaction on a participating
merchant website.
If I lost my mobile phone, can I provide a temporary phone number
while waiting for my new phone number?
No, the DoubleSecure Authentication Code will only be sent to the mobile
number / email address as registered with Emirates NBD. Please ensure you
have access to your mobile / email when you make an online purchase and
that your mobile number / email address registered with Emirates NBD is
updated at all times.
Will my supplementary card holder receive a DoubleSecure
Authentication Code on his/her mobile phone number / email address
for online transactions made using his/her card?
Yes, your supplementary cardholder will receive a DoubleSecure Authentication
Code on his/her mobile phone / email address only if his/her mobile number /
email address is registered with Emirates NBD.
If my mobile phone is on roaming mode while I am abroad, will I
receive a DoubleSecure Authentication Code for online transactions
made then? Do I need to pay for the SMS charges?
Yes, you will receive a DoubleSecure Authentication Code via SMS at our cost
for all local charges but not the roaming charges. Additionally, you will also
receive the Authentication Code on your registered email address.
What should I do if I do not receive my DoubleSecure Authentication
Code?
If you do not receive your DoubleSecure Authentication Code, you may click
on “Resend Authentication Code” button on the authentication screen to
request for another DoubleSecure Authentication Code. The Authentication
Code will be sent to you immediately on your registered mobile number and
email address.
What should I do if I receive a DoubleSecure Authentication Code for a
transaction not performed by me?
Please contact the Emirates NBD 24/7 helpline on 600540000 immediately to
report this transaction and block your card.
