India Pvt. Ltd., Sector 38, Sonepat, Haryana, India
amid Corona Virus pandemic.

INTRODUCTION

Yakult Danone India (P) ltd. Is a joint firm between Yakult, Japan
and Danone of France, both of them are global probiotic leaders.
Yakult. is manufactured at an ISO 9001:2015, OHSAS
18001:2007 and HACCP certified factory in Sonipath, Haryana in
North India. The factory is spread over 8 acres and out of this
more than 30% area is the green belt area. Our total factory is
designed as per international standards and special care was
taken while designing to maintain the highest level of hygiene
standards and deliver the best quality product to its consumers.
The process of making Yakult is completely automated and there
is no human touch at any point of time.
This plant was inaugurated by Mr. Subodh Kant Sahai, Honorable
Minister of State (independent charge), Food Processing
Industries, Govt. of India, on January 18th 2008. The factory has
a capacity of making 1 million bottles per day, which will be
achieved in a phased manner.

HISTORY OF YAKULT

The history of Yakult takes us back to the early 1930s in Japan,


when our founding father, scientist Dr. Minoru Shirota, selected
and cultivated the Lactobacillus casei Shirota bacteria. It took
another 5 years of research to find the right food medium for the
Lactobacillus casei Shirota bacteria.
Yakult was first launched in Japan in 1935, and today with over
80 years of history, Yakult is a global leader in the probiotic drinks
market with the wide range of probiotic products
using Lactobacillus casei strain Shirota and Bifidobacterium
breve.
BENEFITS OF YAKULT
Yakult is a yogurt-like probiotic drink made from the fermentation
of skim milk and sugar with Lactobacillus casei bacteria. Since L.
casei Shirot can be found in the digestive system, Yakult is
promoted as a good drink for health.
Its name comes from jahurto, Esperanto for "yoghurt". Yakult was
discovered by doctor Minoru Shirota in 1930.
Yakult has a lot of benefits. What are the benefits of yakult for the
health of the body? The following are some of the benefits of
yakult for our health:

1.Increase the amount of good bacteria. in the intestines.

4.Reduce toxins in the intestines.

FACTORY OPERATIONS

The Processing Unit where different stages of processing namely


mixing of raw ingredients, sterilization, fermentation, blending,
injection moulding, scrambling, filling/sealing, shrinking and
packaging, storage and their automatic control process were
demonstrated. The product is produced very hygienically.

TYPES OF MANUFACTURING PROCESS


 Mass Production- High volume of Yakult products are produced
with narrow variety
 Two Types- Yakult Original and Yakult Light.
 Injection Blow Moulding Machines- 11000 bottles per hour .

PRODUCT LAYOUT
 Quality Control- Examining, testing, and inspection of
product. Randomly check defect for product.
 Dissolving and Sterilization- Blending with skimmed milk and
sucrose etc.
 Culturing and Fermentation- Transferred into fermentation
tank 37degree.
 Homogenization- Fermented milk placed under high
pressure.
 Blending Mixing and Storage- Mixed with citrus flavor and
chilled below 4 degrees Celsius.
QUESTION ANSWER SESSION
Que1.How many bottles of Yakult can I consume a day OR What
is the dosage need to take?
Ans1.Consuming one bottle a day is enough to enjoy the benefits
of Yakult as it contains more than 10 billion of the unique
probiotic, L. casei strain Shirota. Drinking more than one bottle of
Yakult a day is also fine, as it will cause no harm. But remember,
consume all food and drinks in moderation. Drinking Yakult
everyday helps to ensure a regular supply of good bacteria in
your intestines.

Que2. When is the best time to consume Yakult?


Ans2. You can drink Yakult anytime at your convenience! Yakult
probiotic has been biotechnologically strengthened and cultured
so that it can withstand gastric acid and bile to reach the
intestines alive. Hence, helping to maintain a healthy digestive
system.
Que3. What is the difference between Yakult and Yakult Light?
Ans3. Yakult Light is enriched with polydextrose to increase the
dietary fiber content and comes with a lighter taste. Both Yakult
and Yakult Light contain at least 10 billion of live probiotic L.
casei strain Shirota which has been scientifically proven to help
maintain a healthy digestive system.
Que4. How should Yakult be stored and can it be kept at room
temperature?
Ans4. It is advisable to store Yakult in a refrigerator between 5-
10°C. However, Yakult will not spoil within a few hours at room
temperature. Just remember to keep them in the refrigerator as
soon as you can. 
Que5. Does Yakult have any side effects?
Ans5. No. Yakult is a functional food and not a medicine. Thus, it
does not produce any side effects. Yakult has a record of product
safety for more than 80 years. In fact, the strong probiotic, L.
casei strain Shirota in Yakult helps to increase the number of
good bacteria and decrease the harmful bacteria in the intestines.
This helps to promote a healthy digestive system.
CONCLUSION

We concluded that the Yakult Danone India Pvt. Ltd.,


Sector 38, Sonepat, Haryana, India is GMP certified
industry producing good quality products. It producing
Yakult Original and Yakult Lite of good quality
In this way I want to say that Yakult Danone India Pvt.
Ltd., Sector 38, Sonepat, Haryana, India is a good industry
with proper management system and developed
laboratory and experienced manpower. I wish for their
bright future.
