1.  What   is   Industrial   Engineering?   Discuss   the   role   of   Industrial   Engineer   in   an
organization.
2. What are the application areas of Industrial Engineering?
3. What do you understand by Life cycle approach of the production system?

4. Explain product life cycle of any automobile product with the help of graph.

5. State the differences between Production & Productivity?

6. The following information regarding the output produced and inputs consumed for a
particular time period for a particular company given below:

Output =12000, Human input = 4000, Material input = 300, Capital Input =500,

Energy Input =400 & Other misc. Input =100

The   values   are   in   term   of   base   year   rupee   value.   Compute   the   various   productivity
indices.

7. Explain the different mathematical models to calculate productivity.

8.   How   can   an   industrial   engineer   improve   productivity?   List   down   the   methods   to
improve productivity.

9.  What are the requirements of good product design?

10. Describe the terms:

                   (i) Value engineering. (ii) Concurrent engineering.

11.  Explain the terms:
                   (i) Standardization. (ii) Simplification.
 12.  A car manufacturing company outsources production of its car to Europe. If the
dimensions of one of the car’s component are not standardized what will have happen if
the company exports the product.
