Sushil Bhatta has been appointed as a member of the National Planning Commission, Government of Nepal (GON)
on 26th April 2018. Born in Kailali District, Far West Province, he has extensive experience of working with
development projects, financial institutions and nongovernment organizations in areas of policy making, formulating
strategies/plans, programs and project implementation. He received his Bachelor of Engineering (E&E) and MBA
from Kathmandu University.

Mr. Bhatta has more than 15 years of experience in the field of contract/project management and infrastructure
development. He has played instrumental role in electrifying approximately 60,000 households of Kailali and
Kanchanpur Districts of Far West Province, Nepal under DANIDA funded Project, KKREP from 2003-05. He had
also contributed as Public Private Partnership (PPP) Expert in National Planning Commission. He has served in
different capacities in commercial banks, largely for project development. He has been adjunct faculty at top business
schools of Nepal including Ace Institute of Management and King’s College and invited frequently as a guest speaker
in management colleges.

Mr. Bhatta is an active member of the different national organizations including Nepal Engineers’ Association (NEA),
Management Association of Nepal (MAN), Nepal Council of Arbitrators (NEPCA) and Far Western Stakeholders
Forum. He is the President of 18th Executive Committee of Management Association of Nepal (MAN), a National
Management Organization and an apex body of management practitioners in Nepal. Under his leadership, MAN Far
West Chapter in association with UNDP and GON had organized the first Provincial level Development Road Map
Workshop in Dhangadhi, Kailali in 2017. He was a Jury Member of Nepal CEO Summit & AWARD 2018 Committee,
organized by Business Plus Television and CEO Club Nepal.

Mr. Bhatta has published articles on different development management affairs and has also presented a country paper
of Nepal (2015) representing MAN in Asian Association of Management Organization (AAMO) Council in Manila,
Philippines, where hespoke as a Panelist in First Public Private Partnership Meeting of Asia Pacific Region held in
Guiyang, China in 2018. He represented MAN during the State Visit of Right Hon’ble Prime Minister of Nepal to
India in August 2017 and April 2018. Likewise, he had chaired 35th National Management Convention (NMC) titled
“Reconstruction and Rebuilding Nepal” in 2016, 36th NMC titled “Management of Economic Prosperity in Nepal: A
Way Forward” in 2017, and 37th NMC titled “ Management of Socio-Economic Development in Federal Structure”
in 2018.

Mr. Bhatta has been recognized for his contribution in development management sector and honored with the
prestigious Prabal Jansewa Shree from Government of Nepal in the category of “Management Expert”
(2017/18). Similarly, he was conferred with "CEO with HR Orientation Award" at the 26th Edition of Times
Ascent World HRD Congress (2018), at the Hotel Taj Lands’ End, Mumbai, India.
