JAPAN TRAVEL BUREAU BACKGROUND

Japan Travel Bureau or better known as ‘JTB’ was founded in Japan as Japan Tourist Bureau in 1912. With more than a century’s
presence in the industry, JTB is now Japan’s largest travel network and currently the 4 th largest travel operator based on revenue.
JTB’s presence was established in Malaysia in 1990 and it is currently the No.1 Japan Inbound Operator & Top 5 Outbound Operator.
JTB is also the sole operator of Japan Educational Programs in Malaysia to date. Having handled more than 10,000 incoming
Japanese students to Malaysia yearly, JTB first introduced the Educational Programs to Japan for Malaysian schools in 2004 with
the initial aim of providing opportunities for Malaysian students to visit their Japanese counterparts. The program was designed to
offer a truly authentic Japanese-style educational content in nature with strict monitoring of the students. It has since evolved to
include elaborate school visitation programs, hands-on experiences, rare sites inspections & workshops which require prior formal
appointments.

PROGRAM OBJECTIVES
 To initiate a yearly Japan Educational Program for Malaysian Schools with its content tailored in line with the newly introduced
“PBS” system where emphasis is placed on the Non-Academic niche-areas to promote the school’s image on the international
platform.
 To establish a Sister-School status between Japanese and Malaysian schools through the exchange program where both
schools will visit each other, carry out student interaction activities and embark further educational collaborations.
 To develop the students understanding of Japan’s educational, rich culture, history and its highly-disciplined society. Additionally,
to impart the renowned positive values of the Japanese people to the students through our hands-on approach.

STUDENT GROUP PROJECTS

Participating students are required to participate in 5 groupings, which was incorporated under PBS (Pentaksiran Berasakan
Sekolah) under the category of Non-Academic-PAJSK (Pentaksiran Aktiviti, Jasmani, Sukan dan Kokurikulum).
