How do Rizal and his works relate to the Philippine nationalism?

Dr. Jose Rizal was a great role model for every Filipino. He was not terrified for his ideology that
promotes and aiming for our sovereignty as the natural citizens of our country. Filipinos suffered from
inequality during Spanish-era, they made us as slaves in our own country, and they brought us out like
we are indebted to them. Rizal opened the consciousness of every Filipino by his works. He brought out
the anomalies that occur in that time especially, about the abuse of power and influence. His ideas and
teachings are significant in our present conditions and situations in our society. It encourages us to apply
such ideas to our current social issues. We need to dedicate our lives to the ideals of freedom and
nationalism, for which our national hero lived and died.

Do you agree that Filipino race is a multi ethnic and multi-hybrid race?

Yes, I agree that the Filipino race is a multi-ethnic and multi-hybrid because there are over 180
indigenous ethnic groups in our country with different beliefs and practices. And for the past 200 years,
our country has either been a colony of or was colonized by three other nations, which are the Spain,
United States of America, and Japan. Each of these countries made an influence on our living. For
example about the religion, Filipinos are animism, they worship the objects, places, and creatures, but
when the Spanish colonized us and introduced Roman Catholicism, it continually grows wider even
though we are no longer colonized by them. Now, 82.9% to 85% of our country's population was Roman
Catholics. Even though we have a multi-ethnic or multi-hybrid race, Filipinos are always unified for their
common goals.
