Experience excellent teaching and research
For the third time in a row, RWTH Aachen University stands among Germany’s eleven universities of excellence that receive state funding
amounting to 148 million € per year. RWTH Aachen is the leading German University in third party funding, receiving close to 300 million €
yearly. The university is also part of TU9, an alliance of nine leading technical universities in Germany. RWTH ranks among the QS top
60 worldwide in graduate employability. Nationally, RWTH graduates are the most sought-after on the German job market (Wirtschafts-
woche ranking).

Live and study in the heart of Europe

Aachen – where culture and history meet innovation. The city provides the perfect backdrop to the dynamic and diverse academic
environment of the university. The safe and multicultural student city is located right at the “border triangle”, of the Netherlands, Belgium,
and Germany. There are plenty of opportunities for you to practice your favorite sport, get involved in social projects, join one of the
many student clubs, or simply meet interesting people.

Follow in the footsteps of RWTH Aachen’s WZL

RWTH’s Laboratory for Machine Tools and Production Engineering (“WZL”) is known globally for successful and innovative research in
production engineering. Located on the industry and research campus Melaten, it is in charge of the course’s academic layout. WZL is
part of the Cluster of Excellence-Integrative Production Technology for High-Wage Countries to research the fundamentals of a
sustainable production strategy.

Succeed with RWTH International Academy

As the central, executive education institute of RWTH Aachen University, RWTH International Academy is able to call upon the
expertise of the university’s research institutes. Each of our M.Sc. programs is developed in conjunction with RWTH institutes: While
the institute nominates an academic director and delivers the courses, International Academy administers the programs and offers
students additional assistance. Thus, international students do not only profit from the university’s expertise in a practical manner, they
also enjoy extraordinary support through the Academy’s Master Office team.

Welcome to RWTH Aachen University

At the WZL, we are proud to hold the academic leadership of the
course Networked Production Engineering. We will build upon your
existing qualifications and extend your knowledge in production
engineering with a focus on smart factories, additive manufac-
turing, or electric mobility production. We aim to encourage our
students to immerse themselves in learning how to spearhead
technological transformation and thus live our university’s motto
together with us: “Thinking the Future”!
