This appliance is approved solely for use in accordance with description and safety

instructions specified in this user´s manual.

The equipment is specifi ed for use only for the cutting and trimming of hedges, bushes and
ornamental shrubs. Any other use is not as intended. Improver use is not covered by the warranty
and the manufacturer will reject any liability. The user is liable for all damage caused to third
parties and their property. Unauthorized modifications made to mower rule out any liability on CS
the part of the manufacturer for damage resulting therefrom.

Please note that our equipment has not been designed for use in commercial, trade or industrial
applications. Our warranty will be voided if the machine is used in commercial, trade or industrial
businesses or for equivalent purposes.

GENERAL SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS

i WARNING! When using this machine, observe the following safety instructions
to exclude the risk of personal injury or material damage. Please also observe the
special safety instructions in the respective chapters. Where applicable, follow the
legal directives or regulations for the prevention of accidents pertaining to the
use of machine.

WORK AREA
• Keep work area clean and well lit. Cluttered and dark areas invite accidents.
• Check the landscape where the machine will be used and remove all objects which could be
caught and thrown away. Damage of the machine or operator’s injury could be caused.
• Do not operate tools in explosive atmospheres, such as in the presence of flammable liquids,
gases, or dust.
• Keep children and bystanders away while operating a tool. Distractions can cause you to lose
control.

PERSONAL SAFETY
• Stay alert, watch what you are doing and use common sense when operating a tool. Do not
use a power tool while you are tired or under the influence of drugs, alcohol, or medication.
A moment of inattention while operating tools may result in serious personal injury.

 • Use safety equipment. Always wear eye protection. Safety equipment such as chainsaw
protective trousers and gloves, non-skid safety shoes, hard hat, or hearing protection used for
EN appropriate conditions will reduce personal injuries.
• Remove any adjusting key or wrench before turning the tool on. A wrench or a key that is left
attached to a rotating part of the machine may result in personal injury or damage.
• Do not overreach. Keep proper footing and balance at all times. This enables better control of
the petrol tool in unexpected situations.
• Dress properly. Do not wear loose clothing or jewellery. Keep your hair, clothing and gloves
CS away from moving parts. Loose clothes, jewellery or long hair can be caught in moving
parts.

SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS FOR INITIAL OPERATION

• The operator should read the operating manual before use.
• Work at daylight or at good artificial lighting. If possible, do not use the machine on wet

SK grass.
• Mind the good stability on slopes.
• Do not make fast and rash movements with the machine.
• Never use he machine with a damaged protection facility or protection grids pr without any
protection facility mounted on.
• Never reach behind or under the fast moving parts with hands or feet.
• Use only spare parts and accessories delivered and recommended by the manufacturer. Using
PL of unoriginal components result in immediate expiration of warranty claims.
• No qualification is required except for detailed lesson of the use of unit.
• Only the persons aged 16 may work on the unit Exceptions are the youth that
attend professional education with an aim to receive the skills under the trainer
supervision.

ELECTRIC SAFETY
I WARNING! It is necessary to keep basic safety device by using of this machine,
including the following instructions, to reduce the danger of fire, electric shock
and personal injury.

• Connect the machine only to such supply circuit, which is protected by current protector with
operating current max. 30mA.
• Do not use this product in the rain.
• Protect the machine from humidity. Do not use this product in damp or wet locations.
• Never leave the unit running unattended.
• If the power cord is damaged during operation the machine, immediately disconnect from the
supply. Do not touch the cord and never work with damaged cord.
• Use only extension cords approved for outdoor use with adequate protection against splashing
water. Cross strands extension cord should be for cords up to 25 m at least 1.5mm². Do not
use cables longer than 25m.
• Cable drum before using completely unwind. Make sure the cord is not damaged.
• Do not use the cord to pull the plug from the socket.
• Keep the cord away from heat, oils and sharp edges.

I WARNING! Do not touch the damaged cable and pull the mains plug when the
cable is damaged while working. Damaged cables increase the risk of an electric
shock. If the power supply is damaged, it must be immediately replaced with

a cable without defect, to avoid dangerous situations.

IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS FOR BATTERY CHARGER

Before charging, and before each use, inspect the unit, cable and plug. In case you
find damage, do not use the device. Repairs performed by a specialist. Never open! CS
Before using charger, read all instructions and cautionary markings on charger, battery pack, and
product using battery pack.

i DANGER: Do not probe with conductive objects. Danger of electric shock or electrocution.

• Enclosed charger and battery are specifically designed to work together. DO NOT attempt to
charge the battery with any chargers other than the ones in this manual.
• Do not expose charger to rain or snow.
• This charger is not intended for any uses other than charging rechargeable batteries of the
type Hecht 936. Any other uses may result in risk of fire, electric shock or electrocution.
• To reduce risk of damage to electric plug and cord, disconnect from mains socket by pulling
the plug rather than the cord. PL
• Make sure cord is located so that it will not be stepped on, tripped over, or otherwise subjected
to damage or stress.
• The charger is ventilated through slots. Do not place any object on top of charger or on a
surface that might block the ventilation slots and result in excessive internal heat. Place the
charger in position away from any heat source.
• Do not operate charger if it has received a sharp blow, been dropped, or otherwise damaged in any way.
• Do not disassemble charger. Take it to authorized service center when service or repair is
required. Incorrect reassemble may result in a risk of electric shock, electrocution or fire.
• To reduce risk of electric shock, unplug charger from outlet before attempting any cleaning.
Removing the battery pack will not reduce this risk.
• Never attempt to connect 2 chargers together.
• DO NOT store or use the tool in locations where the temperature may reach or exceed 40°C
(such as outside sheds or metal buildings in summer).
• The charger is designed to operate on standard household electrical power (230 V / 50 Hz).
Do not attempt to use it on any other voltage!
• The charger is not a toy. Charging the battery must always be done by an adult.

IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS FOR BATTERY

The battery is not charged when you first receive it. First read the safety instructions
below the follow charging notes and procedures.

Read all instructions carefully and keep in a safe place for future reference.

• Do not incinerate the battery even if it is severely damaged or is completely worn out. The
battery can explode in a fire.
• A small leakage of liquid from the battery cells may occur under extreme usage or temperature conditions.

 This does not indicate a failure. However, if the outer seal is broken and this leakage gets on your skin:
• Wash quickly with soap and water.
EN • Neutralize with a mild acid such as lemon juice or vinegar.
• If battery liquid gets in your eyes, flush them with clean water for a minimum of minutes
• seek immediate medical attention
• Do not connect the positive pole and the negative pole of the battery with any metal objects. Battery
could be short circuited causing damage to the battery and possibly causing severe burns or fire.
• Charge the battery only in the chargers supplied with the product.

J NOTE: the battery in your tool is the lithium-ion type, with no self-discharge or memory effect.

PERSON PROTECTION
Be prepared! Have about one following things at least:
SK • Suitable fire extinguisher (froth extinguishing).
• Fully equipped first-aid kit, available easily for machine operator and accompanying person. It
should contain enough pieces of bandage for lacerated/cutting wounds.
• Mobile phone or another device for quick calling of rescue service.

Don´t work alone. There must be around another person who knows principles of the first aid.
PL
The accompanying person must keep safe separation distance from your workplace,
but he/she must be able to see you the whole time! Work only on such places
where you are able to call the rescue service quickly!

• If someone is cut, cover the wound with a clean cloth and press hard to stop the flow of blood.
• Do not let petrol or oil come in contact with your skin. Keep petrol and oil away from the eyes.
If petrol or oil comes in contact with the eyes, wash them immediately with clean water. If
irritation is still present, see a doctor immediately.
• Individuals with poor circulation who are exposed to excessive vibration may experience injury
to blood vessels or the nervous system. Vibration may cause the following symptoms to occur
in the fingers, hands or wrists: “Falling asleep” (numbness), tingling, pain, stabbing sensation,
alteration of skin colour or of the skin. If any of these symptoms occur, see a physician!

Put safety first in the case of fire:

• If fire comes from the engine or smoke appears from any area other than the exhaust vent, first
distance yourself from the product to ensure your physical safety.
• Use foam fire extinguisher on the fire to prevent it from spreading.
• A panicked reaction could result in the fire and other damage becoming more extensive.

SAFETY WHILE WORKING WITH THE SAW

• The saw must not touch any other objects before start.
• Keep your hands dry, clean and free of grease.
• Start work only when you have a ready retreat path and cleaned around the cutting tree.
• Do not start the engine if you have a guide bar facing towards you, it could cause serious injury.
• When cross-cutting on a hill, always stand on the uphill side, because the logs will probably roll.
• When cutting a  limb that is under tension, be alert for spring-back so that you will not

 bestruck by the limb or chain saw when the tension in the wood fibers is released.
• Cutting while on a ladder is extremely dangerous because the ladder can slip and your control
of the chain saw is limited. Working aloft should be left to professionals. EN
• Keep both feet on the ground. Do not work from off-the-ground positions.
• Stop the engine before setting the chain saw down.
• A chain saw is designed for two-handed use, do not hold it with one hand or above your shoulders
• Be careful when cutting the small twigs and shoots. They can deflect the saw and cause injury.
• Lead the power cord always behind the operator.
• Do not overload the machine by pressing the guide bar againts the cutting wood.
• Do not cut by the guide bar top.

• Stop the saw before you left the cutting place.

RESIDUAL RISKS
• Even if the device is used according to instructions, it´s  impossible to eliminate all the risks
associated with its operation. The following risks may occur arising from device construction:

• Mechanical hazard, caused by cut and throw off.
• Electrical hazard caused by touch with parts under high voltage (direct contact) or with parts,
which came under a high voltage due to failure of the device (indirect contact).
• Heat hazard resulting in burning or scalding and other injuries caused by possible contact with
high temperature objects or materials including heat sources.
• Noise risk resulting in loss of hearing (deafness) and other physiological disorders (e.g. loss of PL
balance, loss of consciousness)
• Vibration risk (resulting in vascular and neurological harm in the hand-arm system, for example
so called “white finger disease”)
• Dangers caused by contact with harmful liquids, gas, mist, smoke and dust or by their inhalation,
relate to emissions (for example breathing in).
• Danger of fire or explosion relate to spilling of fuel.
• Dangers caused by failing in ergonomic principles by construction of the machine, for example dangers
caused by unhealthy position of body or excessive overcharge and unnature to the anatomy of the
human hand-arm, relate to construction of handle, equilibrium of the machine and using of toothrest.
• Dangers caused by unexpected starting, unexpected exceeding of engine revs caused by defect/
failure of control system, relate to the defects by the handle and placing of drivers.
• Dangers caused by impossibility to stop the machine in best conditions, relate to solidity of the
handle and placing of engine shut down device.
• Dangers caused by defect of machine control system, relate to solidity of the handle, placing
of drivers and marking.
• Dangers caused by tearing (of the chain) during running.
• Dangers caused by shooting up of subjects or splashing of liquids.

OPERATION STARTUP
• Carefully remove the product from the box.
• Carefully inspect all parts. If any part is damaged or missing, contact your dealer or authorized
service center.
• Do not throw away packaging materials until you have not reviewed carefully if they did not
remain a part of the product.
• Parts of the packaging (plastic bags, paper clips, etc.) do not leave within reach of children,
could be a possible source of danger.

 • Disposal must be made ​​in accordance with the regulations in force in the country in which the
equipment was installed.
EN • Make sure that bags and containers of plastic material are left strewn freely in the environment
because they pollute it.
• If you have any doubt do not use the machine, but have it checked by an authorized service center.

Unpack all parts carefully and check it for completeness.

We recommend save the package for future use. The packaging materials must still be recycled or disposed
of in compliance with the relevant legislation. Sort different parts of the packaging according to material
and hand it to the appropriate collection sites. For further information contact your local administration.
Before you start up the chainsaw, ad­just the chain, fill up with chain oil and check the automatic
PL lubrication and chain brake function.

ASSEMBLY
I WARNING! Before performing any maintenance on your appliance, switch off and
remove the battery.

• Lay the saw on a flat surface.

• Turn the fastening bolt (C-1) anti-clock­wise to remove the sprocket chain wheel covering.
• For mounting of the bar and chain sit the assembly at the pin so that the tensioning wheel
is pointing out. (D–2).
• Spread the chain out into a loop with the cutting edges running clockwise (E).
• Lay the chain around the chain sprocket (D–1) and into the groove in the saw bar. Sagging
in the chain is normal.
• Pre-tighten the chain by turning the tensioning plate (D–2) clockwise.
• Position the sprocket chain wheel covering. Only lightly tighten the fastening bolt (F–3), as
you will still have to tension the saw.
• To tighten the saw, turn the chain ad­justment ring (F–2) clockwise. To loosen the tension, turn
the chain adjustment ring anti-clockwise.
• Tighten up the fastening bolt (F–3) again.

TENSIONING THE SAW CHAIN

With a correctly tensioned chain you get good cutting performance and a longer life.

I WARNING! Test the chain tension before every start of the electric chainsaw.
The chain is correctly tensioned if it does not sag at the rail underside and can be rotated
completely around with the gloved hand. When the saw chain is tensioned with 9 N
(approx. 1 kg), the gap between the saw chain and the guide rail may not be more than 2 mm.

• Ensure that the chain brake has been released, that is, that the chain brake lever is pulled up
against the front grip (F–1).
• Unscrew the fastening bolt (F–3). EN
• To tighten the saw, turn the chain ad­justment ring (F–2) clockwise. To loosen the tension, turn
the chain adjustment ring anti-clockwise.
• Tighten up the fastening bolt (F–3) again.
• With a new saw chain, you must readjust the chain tension after at least 5 cutting operations.

CHAIN LUBRICATION CS
J CAUTION The rail and chain must never be without oil. If you operate the
chainsaw with too little oil, the cutting performance and the lifetime of the saw
chain is reduced, since the chain becomes blunt faster.

The power saw is equipped with an oil automatic system. As soon as the motor is speeded up,
the oil also flows faster to the chain bar.
SK
• Check the oil fill level and regularly top up with oil (A–15).
• Use only environmentally friendly biodegradable engine oil loss lubrication of chains. (CASTROL BIORAPS)

J NOTE: Do not use wasted or regenerated oil that can cause damage to the oil pump.
• Unscrew the oil fill cap (A–14) and fill up with chain oil.
• Wipe off any spilled oil and close the cap again.
PL
BATTERY AND CHARGER
• The battery will be charged approximately for 100 minutes. Be sure to read all safety instructions
before using your charger. This product is not user serviceable. There are no user serviceable
parts inside the charger. Servicing at an authorized service center is required to avoid damage
to static sensitive internal components.
• Read all of the instructions about battery charging in this manual before attempting to charge
the battery in your tool.

BATTERY CHARGE LEVEL INDICATOR

The battery pack is equipped with a pushbutton for checking the charge level. Simply press the
pushbutton (H-2) to read off the battery level from the LEDs of the battery indicator:
• All 3 level monitoring LEDs are lit: Battery charge level is high.
• 2 level monitoring LEDs are lit: Battery charge level is decreasing. Stop work as soon as possible.
• 1 level monitoring LED is lit: Battery is flat. Stop work IMMEDIATELY and charge the battery.

I WARNING! Never allow the battery pack to become fully discharged. This will
cause it to develop a defect.

CHARGING THE BATTERY

• Pull the pushlock button (A-12) and pull the battery pack out of the equipment.
• Check that your mains voltage is the same as that marked on the rating plate of the battery charger.
• Insert the power plug of the charger into the mains socket outlet. The LED A (I-1) will then
illuminate in green.
• Push the battery onto the charger as shown (H-1). The LED B will illuminate in red while LED A
is still green (I-2).

 • The battery is fully charged when LED A and B are illuminated in green.
• Pull the pushlock button and pull the battery pack out of the charger.

IMPORTANT CHARGING NOTES
• Longest life and best performance can be obtained if the battery pack is charged when the
air temperature is between 18-24°C. Do not charge the battery in an air temperature below
+10°C, or above +40°C. This is important and will prevent serious damage to the battery.
• The charger and battery may become warm to touch while charging. This is a normal condition,
CS and does not indicate a problem.
• Use the charger in normal room temperatures whenever possible. To prevent overheating, do
not cover the charger and do not charge battery in direct sunlight or near heat sources.
• If the battery does not charge properly check current at receptacle by plugging in a lamp or
other appliance. If charging problems persist, take or send the tool and the charger to your
local service center.

SK • The battery should be recharged when it fails to produce sufficient power on jobs which were
easily done previously. DO NOT CONTINUE to use under these conditions. Follow the charging
procedure.
• Under certain conditions, with the charger plugged in to the power supply, the exposed
charging contacts inside the charger can be shorted by foreign material. Foreign materials of
a conductive nature such as, but no limited to, steel wool, aluminum foil, or any buildup of
metallic particles should be kept away from charger cavities. Always unplug the charger from

to clean.
• Do not immerse charger in water or any other liquid.
• The battery needs to be replaced once every 12 months to take full advantage of the device.
• Never use or charge batteries if you suspect that the last time they were charged was more than
12 months previously.

OPERATING THE CHAINSAW

I WARNING! Switch on the chainsaw only when chain bar, saw chain and sprocket
chain wheel covering are correctly assembled. Make sure you have a secure stance.

SWITCHING ON
• Check before the start, whether suf­ficient chain oil is in the tank and, if necessary, refill with
chain oil (see Chapter Operation Start).
• Release the chain brake, where you shift the brake arm (F–1) back against the front grip.
• Connect the battery to device.
• Hold the electric chainsaw firmly with both hands, with the right hand on the rear grip
and the left hand on the front handle. Thumb and finger must close securely over the
handles.
• For switching on, activate the switch-on block with the right thumb and then press the On/
Off switch (A–2), the electric power saw runs with highest speed. Release the switch-on block
again.
• The power saw switches off when you release the On/Off switch again. Switching for
continuous running is not possible.
• Always take out the battery when you stop working, even if it is only for a short time.

CHECKING THE CHAIN BRAKE
J CAUTION The motor cannot be turned on if the chain brake has engaged. Do not
employ the chain brake in order to start the chainsaw or to switch it off. EN
• Release the chain brake by shifting the brake arm over against the front grip (F–1).
• Place the electric chainsaw onto a solid, flat surface. It must not contact any objects.
• Connect the device to the mains voltage.
• Hold the chainsaw firmly with both hands, with the right hand on the rear grip and the left
hand on the front handle. Thumb and finger must close securely over the handles.
• Turn on the electric chainsaw.

• Activate the chain braking lever (G), with running motor, with the left hand. Chain should stop abruptly.
• Once the chain brake is working properly, release the on/off switch and the chain brake.

I WARNING! If the chain brake does not function correctly, you must not use the
chainsaw. Return the electric chainsaw to our Service-Center for repair.

CHECKING THE OIL AUTOMATIC SYSTEM
• Check the oil level and the oil automatic system before commencement of work.
• Switch on the chainsaw and hold it above a bright background. The saw must not touch the ground.
• If an oil trace can be seen, the chainsaw is working trouble-free. Select the oil regulator to
prevent oil droplets forming, but also to prevent the chain from ever running dry. When the
chainsaw is put away in storage, set the oil regulator to zero. PL
J CAUTION The oil can become viscous under cold weather conditions. Set the oil
regulator to maximum.

J CAUTION If no oil trace can be seen, clean the possibly blocked oil flow duct
or have the electric chainsaw repaired by our Service-Center (see P. 21 for our
address).

CHANGING THE SAW BAR

• Lay the saw on a flat surface.
• Turn the fastening bolt (C-1) anti-clock­wise to remove the sprocket chain wheel covering.
• Remove the saw bar and saw chain.
• For mounting of the bar and chain sit the assembly at the pin so that the tensioning wheel
is pointing out. (D–2).

FITTING THE SAW CHAIN

• Spread the chain out into a loop with the cutting edges running clockwise (E).
• Lay the chain around the chain sprocket (D–1) and into the groove in the saw bar. Sagging
in the chain is normal.
• Pre-tighten the chain by turning the tensioning plate (D–2) clockwise.
• Position the sprocket chain wheel covering. Only lightly tighten the fastening bolt (F–3), as
you will still have to tension the saw.

J CAUTION Refer to the Operation startup section on how to tension the saw chain.

 KICKBACK SAFETY PRECAUTIONS
EN • In some cases, tip contact may cause a lightning-fast reverse reaction, kicking the guide bar up and
back toward the operator (this is called a rotational kickback). Pinching the saw chain along the top of
the guide bar may push the guide bar rapidly back toward the operator (this is called a linear kickback).
• Either or these reactions may cause you to lose control of the saw and come in contact with
the moving chain, which could result in serious personal injury.

CS • As a chain saw user, you should take several steps to keep your cutting jobs free from accident or injury.
• With a basic understanding of kickback, you can reduce or eliminate the element of surprise.
• Sudden surprise contributes to accidents. Understand that rotational kickback is preventable
by keeping an unshielded bar nose from touching an object or the ground.
• Do not operate a chain saw with one hand!
• Serious injury to the operator, helpers or bystanders may result from one-handed operation.
• Keep a good firm grip on the saw which both hands, with the right hand on the rear handle
SK and the left hand on the front handle, when the engine is running.
• Use a firm grip with thumbs and fingers encircling the chain saw handles. A firm grip will help you reduce
kickback and maintain control of the saw. Two hands must be used to control the saw at all times.
• Do not overreach or cut above chest height.
• Make sure that the area in which you are cutting is free from obstructions.
• Do not let the bar nose contact a log, branch, or any other obstruction which could be hit

PL while you are operating the saw. (pic. J, K)

• Cutting at high engine speeds may reduce the likelihood of kickback. But cutting at part-
throttle or low engine speeds may be preferable to control the chain saw in tight situations
and may also reduce the likelihood of kickback.
• Follow manufacturer‘s sharpening and maintenance instructions for the saw chain.
• Use only replacement guide bars and chains specified by the manufacturer, or the acceptable
equivalents of these guide bars and chains.

SPIKED BUMPER
This saw features spiked bumper (A–8) for easier cutting and reducing the risk of kickback. Use
it as follow: hold the saw so that spiked bumper would touch the cutting wood. Rotation of the
wood will have tendention to pull the saw inside the wood. Correctly used spiked bump can stop
sudden jerk or kickback.

SAWING TECHNIQUES
PRE CUTTING TEST
• Familiarize yourself with your chain saw before you start actual cutting.
• For this purpose it may be wise to practice by cutting some small logs or limbs several times.
• Do not allow either people or animals into the work area.
• Multiple operators - Keep a  safe distance between two or more operators when working
together simultaneously.

CUTTING INSTRUCTIONS
• Hold the saw with bothhands firmly in all circumstances.
• In all circumstances the operation of the chain saw is a one-man job.
• Make sure the chain is correctly tensioned.

• It is difficult at times to take care of your own safety, so don‘t assume the responsibility for a

• After you have learned the basic techniques of using the saw, your best aid will be your own EN

• The accepted way to hold the saw is to stand to the left of the saw with your left hand on
thefront handle so you can operate the switch with your right index finger.
• Before attempting to fell a tree, cut some small logs or limbs.
• Be thoroughly familiar with the controls and the responses of the saw.
• Start the engine, see that is running properly.
• It is not necessary to press down hard to make the saw cut.

• If the chain is properly sharpened, the cutting should be relatively effortless.
• Pushing the saw too hard will slow the engine and cutting will actually be more difficult.
• Some material may adversely affect the housing of your chain saw. (Example: palm tree acid,
fertilizer etc.)
• To avoid housing deterioration carefully remove all packed saw dust around switch and guide bar area.

FELLING A TREE
I WARNING! The felling of trees needs a lot of experience. Fell trees only if you can
safely handle an electric chainsaw.

• A falling tree can seriously damage anything it may hit - a car, a house, a fence, a power-line
or another tree.
• Decide the direction in which you wish the tree to fall taking into account the direction of the

wind, the position of branches, lean of the tree, ease of subsequent limbing and bucking and
other factors prevalent at the time.

I WARNING! select a path of retreat. When the tree begins to fall you should
retreat away from the direction of fall at a 45-degree angle and at least 3 m from
the trunk to avoid the trunk kicking back over the stump. (fig. L–1)

Decide the direction in which you wish the tree to fall taking into account the direction of the
wind, the position of branches, lean of the tree, ease of subsequent limbing and bucking and
other factors prevalent at the time.
• Clear the area around the tree and make sure that you have a good foothold and clear retreat path.
• Ensure that others in the area are aware of the felling and ensure people and animals are well clear.
• Make a notch cut one-third of the way into the tree on the felling side (fig. L–2).
• Make the felling cut (pic.L–3) on the opposite side to the initial notch and slightly higher than
the notch. As the felling cut gets close to the notch cut, the tree will begin to fall.
• Remove the saw from the cut, stop the engine with the on/off switch (fig. I), put the saw
down and leave the area along the retreat path.

LIMBING
Limbing is the process of removing the branches from a fallen tree.
• Check the direction in which a branch will bend before cutting it. Always cut on the opposite
side to the bending direction so that the guide bar is not pinched in the cut.
• For large limbs that cannot be removed in one cut, make an initial cut from the bent side and
finish by sawing from the opposite direction (fig. M). Do not remove limbs that are supporting
the fallen tree on the ground until the tree has been cut into lengths.

 I WARNING! Always keep a balanced stance. Do not stand on the log. Be alert to
EN the fact that the log may roll over. When working on a slope, always stand on the
uphill side of the log.

BUCKING
• Bucking is cutting a log into lengths for easier handling.
• To saw a  log lying on the ground, first saw halfway, then roll the log over and cut from
the opposite side. To saw the end of a log supported off the ground, first saw up from the
CS bottom one-third through the log then finish by sawing down from the top. To saw a log in
the middle of two supports holding it off the ground, first saw down from the top one-third
through the log then finish by sawing up from the bottom (fig. N).

J CAUTION Avoid cutting into the ground as this will very quickly dull the saw chain.

SK PRUNING
• Pruning is the removal of a limb or branch from a standing tree.
• First cut up from the bottom and finish down from the top (fig. O).

I WARNING! Do not use an unstable foothold or ladder. Do not overreach. Do not

saw above shoulder height. Always use both hands to hold the saw.

PL CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE

I Warning! Before performing any maintenance on your appliance, switch off and
remove the battery. Wait till all moving parts are completely stopped.

I WARNING! All chain saw service operations, other than items listed in the
Operator‘s Manual, should be performed by competent service personnel. Use only
original spare parts. Before performing any maintenance and cleaning work let the
device cool. Danger of burns!

I WARNING! Cutting edges of the chain are sharp! Use protective gloves when
manipulating with the chain.

CLEANING
• After each use, carefully clean the machine. This extends the service life and avoid accidents.
• Do not let the handles contaminate with gasoline, oil or grease. Clean the handle clean with
a damp cloth washed in soapy water. Do not use solvents or petrol!
• Clean the chain saw after each use. For this purpose use a brush or whisk broom. To clean the
chain do not use the liquid. After cleaning, lightly oil the chain with chain oil.
• Clean air slots and surfaces of the machines with a brush, or dry cloth. Do not use any liquids.
Do the same even if the charger and battery cleaning.
• Replace the battery (accumulator) for original one every 12 months, preferably do this before
the beginning of new season.

SAW CHAIN MAINTENANCE

• Sharpen the chain regularly to maintain optimum performance of the saw. Signs of a dull
chain are:
• The sawdust becomes powder-like

I WARNING! Wear heavy gloves when handling the chain. Stop the saw before sharpening

I WARNING! Never operate a chain saw with a dull or damaged chain. If the chain
requires excessive pressure to cut or produces dust instead of wood chips then
inspect the cutters for damage. When sharpening the chain the objective will be
to maintain the same angles and profiles throughout its life as when it was new.

• In order to file the chain correctly you need: round file and file holder, flat file and a depth
gauge tool. By using the correct file size (4.0 mm Round file) and a file holder, it is easier to
receive a good result.
• Consult your authorized service for correct sharpening tools and sizes.

Lock the chain - push the front hand guard forward.

To rotate the chain - pull the front hand guard against front handle.
Your chain will have alternative left and right hand cutters.Always sharpen from the inside out.
(fig. Q–I.).
• Insert file into the groove of the tooth and file the cutter back until the damaged area (side
plate and top plate) has been removed. (fig. Q–II.)
• Hold the file horizontally.
• Avoid touching the tie straps with the file.
• Sharpen the most damaged cutter first and then take all the other cutters back to the same high.
• The depth control determines the thickness of wood chip produced and must be maintained
correctly throughout the chain life.
• As the cutter length is reduced, the depth control height is altered and must be reduced.
(fig. Q–III.)
• Position the depth gauge, and file off any of the depth control which protrudes. (fig. Q–IV.).
• Round off the front of the depth control to allow smooth cutting.

 • Drive link serves to remove sawdust from the groove of the guide bar. Therefore, keep the
lower edge of the drive link sharp.
EN • When setting of the chain is finished, soak it in oil and wash away filings completely before
using. When the chain has been filed on the bar, supply sufficient oil to it, and rotate the
chain slowly to wash away the filings before using again.
• If the chain or chain bar is operated with filings clogged in the groove, the saw chain and
the guide bar will be damaged prematurely. If the saw chain becomes soiled with resin for
instance, clean it with kerosene and soak it in oil.
CS SPROCKET
• The damaged sprocket will cause premature damage or wear of saw chain.
• When the sprocket has worn out of 0.5 mm or more, replace it (fig. R).
• Check sprocket when you install new chain.
• Replace it if worn.

SK J CAUTION Remember that saw the use of drip oil and that oil can leak, especially
when lying on side or vertically. This is not fault. Before displacing a saw we
recommend to leave a minimal amount of oil in the tank and put aside the saw to
container for capturing low oil (example a tray with a raised edge). The spilled oil
must be disposed ecologically.

PL STORAGE
Long term storage (Over 30 days)

I WARNING! For future reference, you should keep this operator‘s manual. Do

not store your unit for a prolonged period of time (30 days of longer) without
performing protective storage maintenance which includes the following:

• Perform all periodic lubrication and services that are required.

• Remove accumulation of grease, oil, dirt and debris from exterior of unit.
• Tighten all the screws, bolts and nuts.
• Cover the chain and the guide bar with the guide bar cover before putting them in storage.
• Store unit in a  dry, dust free place, out of the reach of children and other unauthorized
persons.
• Store in a place where the temperature is between +10 and +40 ºC (for battery between +10
and +20 ºC ideally).

Remember that saw the use of drip oil and that oil can leak, especially when lying on side or
vertically. This is not fault. Before displacing a saw we recommend to leave a minimal amount
of oil in the tank and put aside the saw to container for capturing low oil (example a tray with
a raised edge). The spilled oil must be disposed ecologically.

TRANSPORT
Turn the motor off and remove the battery.
Take care not to drop or strike the machine when transporting. Do not place objects on the
machine.
