Instructions:
You will see an image (a graph, picture, map, chart, or table). You will have 25 seconds to study
the image. When you hear the tone, you should begin describing in detail what is shown in the
image. You will have 40 seconds to give your response. There are six or seven images.
Suggestions:
1. Identify the type of image. The approach for describing each image with the template is
slightly different.
2. Take notes if needed. Write down the necessary information needed to fill in the template.
Writing in complete sentences is not advised.
3. For graphs, charts, and tables, be sure to understand what is being measured and in what
units it is being reported.
4. Determine the main point of the image and provide an overview using the words provided in
the description or paraphrase the description.
5. The last sentence of the every template requires a analysis of the image. Provide an
opinion.
