school, the prime users being small kids. The open space in front
of school measures 20 m × 10 m. Your design should reflect the
choice of planting material, colours, texture, nature of ground
surface and other landscape elements. Support your answer with
a plan, sections and relevant sketches. (20)
2. Explain the functional uses of plants in landscape planning. Name
four plants and shrubs suitable for landscape design. (10)
3. Answer the following :

(a) Differentiate between "hardscape" and "softscape". (4)

(b) Explain–edging, ground covers and cover crops. (4)

(c) What are the scientific names for the Neem and Jamun ?
