Cyclone Engineering Developers, Inc. is formally indicating our interest to design the
restaurant development project. At Cyclone Engineering Developers, Inc., we strive to

Our lead project manager, Andrew Mota, has a long experience of managing projects
that our company has done in the past. Our head structural engineer, Alex Stein, has
been responsible for designing and constructing structures that are safe, capable of
withstanding the elements, and making sure that all calculations made on a project are
correct. Our lead architect, Katie Toms, is accomplished at designing and drafting for
beautiful and modern architectural details with all the buildings she has designed for our
company. Lastly, our project estimator, Danny Vieceli, has maintained an 89% accuracy
when estimating the prices for all of our projects over the past 12 years.

Team Roles

Lead Project Manager - Andrew Mota, P.E.

Mr. Mota joined Cyclone Engineering Developers, Inc. in 1995 as a Junior Project
Manager. With his amazing track record, he was promoted to Lead Project Manager in
2003. Mr. Mota’s responsibility within the company includes overseeing each project,
drawing logs, change orders, scheduling, as well as managing subcontractors to get
specific jobs done on the project. Through his decades of experience, Mr. Mota is one
of the most respected employees at Cyclone Engineering Development, Inc. and is a
beacon for new employees within the company.

Head Structural Engineer - Alex Stein, P.E.

Mr. Stein earned a M.S. from Iowa State University in Civil Engineering with a structural
focus and later joined Cyclone Engineering Developers, Inc. in 2000 as a Structural
Engineering assistant, and quickly worked his way up the ladder within the company to
become the head Structural Engineer in 2006. In 2004, Mr. Stein received his P.E.
license in the state of Iowa. In the company, Mr. Stein holds the responsibilities of
designing and constructing structures that are safe, capable of holding desired loads,
and making sure that all calculations made on a project are correct.

Lead Architect - Katie Toms

Ms. Toms joined Cyclone Engineering Developers, Inc. in 1997 as an Architecture

Intern. She then joined the company a year later after completing her Master’s in
Architecture from Cornell University as an Architecture Assistant. Shortly after in 2006,
she was promoted to Lead Architect. Her responsibilities within the company include
designing the buildings projects, working with the Structural Engineer to make sure the
innovative designs made are feasible. One thing that stands out about Ms. Toms is that
on every project she tries to innovate the design to include something new and efficient
in order to push the industry forward.

Project Estimator - Danny Vieceli

Mr. Vieceli graduated from Iowa State University with a B.S. in Civil Engineering in 2004
and joined Cyclone Engineering Developers, Inc. shortly after as an assistant to the
Project Estimator. He has over 15 years of experience in the estimating field, and was
voted the best Project Estimator in Iowa by the ProjEct. Organization in 2008. His
responsibilities include gathering proposals and specification related documentation,
labor costs, and materials in order to compute the overall price for a project.

Wallaby’s Bar and Grille

Location:​ 2733 Stange Road, Ames, IA 50014

Owner:​ Don O’Brien
Description & Scope:
Our firm was responsible for the design of the entire restaurant, construction, and the
management of other subcontractors. Lead Architect Katie Toms was responsible for
the design, layout, and the look of the main eating area and the kitchen. Our structural
engineer, Alex Stein, was in charge of designing the building to be safe and occupiable,
as well as the design of the parking lot. Thanks to our Lead Project Manager, Andrew
Mota, and Project Estimator, Danny Vieceli, this project was completed one week ahead
of schedule and on budget. The project was finished in April 2019.

Hickory Park

Location: ​1404 S. Duff Ave, Ames, IA 50010

Owner: ​Bernau Capital Partners
Description & Scope:
This is one of the larger restaurants that our firm has designed and built. We were
responsible for the design of the overall layout of the building, the kitchen, the main
eating area, and the parking lot. We were also responsible for the construction of the
project and managing other subcontractors. The project was completed in July 2018 on
schedule and on budget.
