ASSIGNMENT NUMBER- 1

M. Tech (F.Y.) ECE - VLSI and ES

Trimester - 1
ABSTRACT

The Assignment covers the key thought of

writing survey based on article
measurements for the accomplishment of
an appropriate issue articulation and
problem ststement.
INTRODUCTION

In research process the most important step that happens to be that of choosing an appropriate
issue explanation( problem statement) .

Since a defective issue proclamation can sit around idly and in a manner exertion.

For the most part, an problem statement issue has the accompanying COMPONENTS.

• There must be an individual or a gathering which has some trouble or an issue.

• There must be some target to be achieved at. On the off chance that one has nothing one
can't have an issue.

• There must be an elective methods for targets one wishes to achieve.

• There must stay some uncertainty in the brain of the scientist with respect to the choice of
options.
POINTS TO BE KEPT IN MIND WHILE
CHOSING A PROBLEM STSTEMENT

• Controversial subject must not be chosen for a normal Research .

• Too tight or too unclear issues must be maintained a strategic distance

from.

• Subject which is exaggerated ought not be ordinarily picked.

• The subject chose for research must be natural and doable so the related
examination material or wellspring of exploration are inside one's range.

• Before the last examination issue choice, the specialist must ask himself
the accompanying inquiries. Whether he will be prepared regarding the
foundation to complete the examination ? , and is it feasible for him/her
or not ?
Characterizing an problem statement includes laying limits inside which the
analyst will examine the issue with a foreordained goal in see.

The analyst must himself ought to propose an inquiry and set up methods and
systems to illuminate the inquiry .

The exploration issue must be characterized in a precise way stepping into

account.

1. Statement of issue in an overall manner.

2. Understanding the idea of issue.

3. Surveying the accessible writing.

4. Developing the thoughts through writing conversations.

JOURNALS

Consequently, remembering, the above situation, the best and principal wellspring
of data identified with different wellspring of data identified with different
JOURNALS and their constituent exploration paper via online sources, for example,

• IEEE Journals

• Elsevier Journals

• Spinger Journals
Need of Journals

• These Journals give a wide assortment of research papers grouped under

different classifications in this way the scientist can look for an expansive
examination are and slender it down to their field of intrigue.

• Further so as to enhance the procedure of classification these libraries give

some ARTICLE METRICS based on which we can rate an research paper and
afterward view it. Therefore, sparing time and energy.
ARTICLE METRICS

• Initial submission for review

• Final Acceptance submission
• Impact Factor
• Eigen Factor
• Article influence score
• Citation index
• Immediacy index
• H index
• Impact Factor - It is the frequency with which the "average article" in
a journal has been cited in a given period of time. For example: if
there are 100 papers published in a journal in 2019 – 2020 and there
are 100 citations of articles from this journal in 2021 the Impact Factor
2021 will be “1”.
* FIVE-YEAR IMPACT FACTOR defines for last five years.

• Eigen Factor - The calculation is complicated, a journal Eigen factor

is basically a measure of how many people read a journal and think
its contents are important. Since this cannot be directly calculated, it
is measured by counting the total number of citations a journal
receives over a five-year period.

• Impact Factor vs. Eigen Factor

Impact factor is How Many People Read My Article? Whereas Eigen
Factor is How Many People Read this Journal?
• Initial submission for review - The journal aims to provide authors
with a quick decision. Reviewers are given a tight deadline to
review the manuscript. In most cases, the decision is made in less
than three months this is initial submission for review.

• Final Acceptance submission - time taken by the research paper

from submission to acceptance is FAS.

• Article influence score - The Article Influence score is a journal

specific Eigen factor score. It is calculated by dividing the Eigen
factor score of the journal by the number of articles published. It
tells the average impact of an article published in a journal from a
five year period after the publication of the article.

• Citation Index - A citation index is a kind of bibliographic index,

an index of citations between publications, allowing the user to
easily establish which later documents cite which earlier
documents.
• Immediacy index - The Immediacy Index is the average
number of times an article is cited in the year it is
published. The journal Immediacy Index indicates how
quickly articles in a journal are cited.

• H index - The h-index is defined as the maximum value

of h such that the given author/journal has
published h papers that have each been cited at
least h times.
