ABSTRACT

LUZON, HERMINO T., MACABALLUG, EDWIN II L., NARAG, ARISTOTEL D.,

Thesis, Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering, Isabela State University, Cabagan,

The goal of this study was to develop a boom irrigation system that provides a

uniform a versatile irrigation and mist over any crop. Specially, it sought to: 1) develop an

automated boom irrigation system which has the following features: a) soil moisture

sensor; b) programmable water spraying; and, 2) assess the level of acceptance in terms

of: a) functionality; and, b) usability.

In using the boom irrigation system, the water tank and AC Motor water pump

suck and store the water that will be used. The solenoid valve controls the flow or the

direction of the water. DC motor moves the boom through the plant bed. Soil moisture

sensor detects the volumetric content of the soil. The boom facility waters the plants in the

plant bed.

The study made use of block diagram, wiring diagram and related reference

materials from the internet. The weighted mean was used to obtain the overall rating of the

respondents and the modified Likert Scale was the basis on identifying the range in terms

of the overall assessment on the acceptance of the study.
