Brüel & Kjær Mapping and Sound

Power Program WT 9378 analyses
sound intensity or sound pressure data.
The program has two main applica-
tions: sound intensity mapping and
sound power calculation. The mapping
routines comprise a numeric map, a
contour map, a vector map and a 3D
landscape plot (over a grid surface) of
sound intensity. The power routines
comprise a power spectrum a table of
power values calculated for all meas-
ured points, and absolute, positive or
negative sound power ranking of sec-
tors.
Both pressure and intensity data are
used; pressure data can be used for
sound power determination according
to standards ISO 3745 and ANSI S12.
35 - 1990 and intensity data for in-situ
measurements where pressure-based
methods may be unreliable. Narrow-
band data from the Type 3550/55/56
can be synthesized into 1/3- or 1/1-oc-
tave. The WT 9378 runs on IBM XT/
