In narrative writing it is advisable for students to insert
“audio” and “visual” effects as to attract the reader
towards the script. The more of these “special effects”
inserted into the piece of writing the better marks the
candidates would stand to gain.
For example :

It was twelve midnight….there was no

one at home and I could hear the clock


going tick, tock, tick, tock and the sound

of wind outside going swish, swish and


suddenly there was a loud BANG outside.
That extremely loud sound made me

jump out of my chair and I started

shivering and perspiring……
