AGRIPAD INCUBATION

Problem
There was a poor child named “Handu” who used to stich the upper of the leather shoes for
living. He was around 8-9 years old when I was around 13 years old. I saw him having a roti
with water or with just one green chilli and most of the time with a piece of onion.

I felt ashamed and I felt helpless. I never wanted to hurt his dignity. We need to have good
food on the plate of every Indian. But, the following problems are there:

1. Farmers don’t get the opportunity to sell directly, middlemen take away margins.
2. Farmers are poor because they don’t proper tools, knowhow, funds and will. They
grow crops that doesn’t fetch them much.
3. Crop production is less.
4. A lot of food is wasted in supply chain and storage.
5. Pesticides, food adulteration, and other factors add up to problems.

Solution
The solution is to create an integrated ecosystem from farm to plate. The following
measures should solve all the problems:

1. Farmers should be trained in crop production, organic farming, best practices,
marketing etc.
2. A farm to plat model should be built.
3. Logistics should be effectively and efficiently managed to reduce wastage.
4. Demand and supply gap should be reduced to reduce wastage and control prices.
5. Contract farming and partnership with the farmer should be offered.
6. Effective tie-ups shall be made with HORECA.
7. Organic farming should be promoted.
8. Farmers should get access to best education, health, entertainment facilities within
the village. This will keep them attached to their farms.
9. The excess millets, fruits & vegetables should be offered to poor people at extremely
low prices.
10. The food that is not fit for human consumption shall be distributed to animals.

The Concept
The project AgriPad is the World’s first integrated startup with a combination of 6 startups
integrated under one umbrella. The AgriPad Foundation will be established as a Section 8
Company that will function as a Trust (NGO) for the benefit of the society.

AgriPad Foundation shall fulfil the following objectives:

1. Improving the living standard of farmers.

2. Providing good education to the children of farmers & good healthcare to the farmer
family.
3. Protecting the villagers from health hazards because of pesticides absorbed in the
water. They drink the same water and get prone to cancer.
4. Reducing the food wastage in supply chain/logistics. Ensuring that the food isn’t
wasted in restaurants and hotels.
5. Phase wise eradicating the use of chemical based fertilisers and pesticides in entire
India.
6. Filing PILs for the benefit of farmers, consumers & sellers, traders.
7. Forbidding the food adulteration, avoiding chemical use and providing pure food to
the consumers.
8. Providing food to the poor and needy people at a very low cost.
9. Offering support to the farmers through tools, equipment, knowledge, training etc.
10. Connecting the dots, forming the entire ecosystem, becoming the successful brand
to support the farmers, traders, sellers, manufacturers etc.
