LETTER OF RECOMMENDATION

As the chair of the Department of Computer Science, I am providing this recommendation letter in
support of graduate study for my student Mr. Krishna Swaroop. I am providing this letter based on
my observation during his undergraduate study for the past 4 years in Amrita, as a senior faculty. In
general, I have found him to be a regular, punctual and task-oriented student who works hard to
meet the demands of the programme steadfast.

Krishna is good in his academics and his GPA of 8.7 is a testimony to this. He has a passion for
learning, experimenting and exploring challenging ideas and is also good in programming. He has
taken up multiple state-of-the-art projects during his study at Amrita, to mention a few; Led a team
of four to deploy encrypted Electronic Health Records (EHR) to blockchain, developed an
amalgamated neural network model for better text processing, and an end-to-end fall detection
device that employed Machine Learning. In his second year, Mr. Krishna was selected for an Erasmus
Plus international mobility scholarship to Portugal called ‘Merging Voices’; he was one and the
youngest among five recipients of the scholarship. His project in Artificial Intelligence done at NOVA
University, Lisbon, Portugal was widely appreciated and of considerable social relevance and his
ability to deliver to the expectations of his professors is particularly noteworthy.

His support and involvement in terms of his work as Head of Corporate Relations Team during
‘Anokha 2019’ - Amrita University's National Level Tech-Festival, was exceptional and prescient. He
showed high levels of leadership qualities and was considered in high esteem by his peers and
faculty at large. He consistently demonstrated his ability to rise to any challenge he had to face in
academics or in other avenues of life. To add to his profile, he has been actively participating in
numerous extracurricular activities such as debates and elocutions conducted by Srishti club
(Literary Club) and won prizes, represented the college in multiple Model United Nations (MUNs)
and was presented with honorable mentions.

During my acquaintance, I have found him to be very confident, well-mannered, focused and
endowed with perseverance and commitment to achieving his goals. He has excellent speaking and
writing skills in English that can help him to undergo the higher program truly effective and thereby
to contribute better. During the stint here, he has gained skills that are useful for success in your
graduate study; especially his ability for independent learning that has added to his skills in
harvesting information, thinking vitally and managing time effectively.

With overall abilities gained through his undergraduate courses, I am confident that he can perform
well during his M.S. and bring laurels to the graduate university. I strongly recommend his
unreserved admission to the M.S program at your prestigious university.
