I. Objectives
At the end of the lesson the learners are expected to:
a. Discuss the factors that cause communication breakdown
b. Differentiate miscommunication from communication failure
c. Value the importance of respect in any communication situation.

A. Before the Lesson


1. Checking of Attendance
2. Review: the communication models
3. Ask the students the following question:
 Have you ever experienced talking with a deaf or mute?
4. Ask the students of their insight about that experience.
5. Present objectives of the day.

B. Lesson Proper
1. CLS time
 Ask the students to stay in their CLS.
 Using the pictures they brought they have to discuss how the five elements of
communication cause communication breakdown.

d. Receiver/listener
e. Feedback
2. Group presentation
 Ask the students to present their output, input on communication
breakdown/failure will be given.
 Lead the students to discuss/differentiate miscommunication from
communication failure.
C. After the Lesson
Ask the students to share their realizations after the discussion of the day’s lesson.
Facilitate their answers and lead them to realize the importance of respect in any
communication situation they do.

V. Assignment
List ways that can help avoid communication failure.
