evaluation of the various speakers watched and listened to.

I. OBJECTIVES
At the end of the lesson, the students are expected to:

1. Discuss the functions of communication;



2. Identify the speaker’s purpose/s;

3. Value the importance of communication functions;

4. Apply these functions in their daily conversation both in school and at
home.

II. CONTENT
1. Topic: Regulation/Control, Social Interaction, Motivation, Information,
Emotional Expression

III. PROCEDURE
A. PRELIMINARY ACTIVITIES
1. Opening Prayer
2. Greetings
3. Checking of Attendance
4. Review
Our previous lesson was about Communication Breakdown….
5. Motivation
Start the class by letting the students share their personal experiences to the given
pictures flashed on the screen about life and every living thing found on earth to their
classmate (Science integration). (3 minutes)

B. ACTIVITY

The teacher will ask the students to get a pen and notebook to take down notes from
the shown video. They should pay attention and list the scenarios they are familiar
and can relate (Social Science integration). (10 minutes).

C. ANALYSIS

After the presentation, teacher will randomly ask students with the following
questions: How was the activity? Which part you liked the most? Among the
functions, which do you think is the most important? Why? (15 minutes)

D. ABSTRACTION

Teacher will ask the students what they have learned out from the discussion. (5
minutes)

E. APPLICATION

Students will be given time to master each function by identifying the different
functions through actual movie clips (ICT integration). Teacher will randomly pick a
student. (5 minutes)
