1. What does language study consists of?

From the book there are four things that student need to do with new language ; be exposed to
it, know and understand the meaning, how is the form and don’t forget to practice it.
2. How should we exposed students to language?
In the classroom the teacher’s role is to expose students to language.

-complete beginners
In this level spoken form is the most important thing, and teacher should use more repetation
when they said something. For the example “it’s a pen”
While the teachers holding the pen and repeatedly say “pen…look..it’s a pen… pen.. pen” so the
student have had a chance to hear the word.

-elementary
Almost the same with complete beginners,In this level spoken form is needed. Where the
teachers play the tape repeatedly in order to make students easier to catch the meaning.
After it’s done the teachers can check the students’s understanding just like “what is the
speaker talking about?” then after the students get the point it’s good to give the written
form.

-lower intermediate
The teachers give a written form related to comparative material. The teachers also can give 2
different picture and let the student guess what’s the different of the two pictures.

-upper intermediate
The teachers let the students learn individually by give them an article and show some word can
be used in another variations of sentences.
3. How can we help students to understand meaning?
-beginners
When the techers wants the students know about some things, the teachers should give example
related to the things. For the example is a pen, the teachers can show a real pen or just a picture
and video.
-elementary
Teacher asking the question to students related to the material that already given, for the
example is “invitation” tape, so the teacher can ask question “did ijak accepted the invitation?”
