The difficulties that I experience when I was citing sources is when I can’t find the
real author of the text because it has a lot of false information, I notice it because in the
source it has different names, date of published and many more and because the
information in the text is different for the real one. And my observation about citing
sources is sometimes the text has complete information and sometimes its incomplete
and it’s hard to say if it is true or not because of the different name of the author and the
ideas. Citing sources is not just looking for the source we need to search more deeper
about the real information, if it’s really the real one because sometimes the source is
just plagiarized by someone or they just paraphrase the words so it’s not noticeable for
the readers to know if it is true or not. Citing sources is important because it gives us
information’s, concepts, arguments and ideas and the best way to pay the authors is by
giving a proper credit for their words or ideas that we incorporated, and for us to avoid
plagiarism or copying the text and paraphrasing it. Citing sources is not just important
but also to properly document all borrowed concepts and ideas and it promotes
scholarly writing and it is also helpful when it comes to having assignments, activities
even in our work because it give us a lot of information about any kind of text if we just
use it properly like giving a credit to the rightful owner of the text or any sources that we
search or read because if we don't we will be accused in plagiarism, plagiarism is
serious offense in which you steal or copy someone’s idea or information, and the
worst offense is you might end up in jail. We should be careful when it comes to citing
sources, we shouldn't just write it down we should check first if it is the real author or not
because sometimes that author written in that text is not the real author, sometimes it's
just the person who plagiarize that text. My recommendation on how to address those
difficulties in citing sources is by using APA format, follow the author, date method of in-
text citation. This means that the author's last name and the year of publication for the
source should appear in the text, APA Style provides clarity to papers on often complex
topics. It makes papers easier to read and understand. When sources are cited the
same way each time and the paper is written in a uniform format, it gives it better flow
and helps keep the focus on the content of the paper. APA really helps us to determine
the source easily and to understand clearly. The purpose of the citing sources is to give
a proper credit to the authors or the real owner of the text we should avoid plagiarism
because it’s a crime.
