Moderating Equipped Disciple Online

Step 1:
To gain access to the course you are moderating, you will receive an email from Pathwright inviting you to join
the course. Click “Accept Invitation”. You’ll then be presented with two options: “I have an account” and “Don’t
have an account?” Pick the one that applies to you and follow the on-screen instructions until you get to a
screen that has a blue Register button. Click Register. Then click “Get Started”.

Step 2:
Once you join the course, please add a picture to your profile by clicking your initials in the top-right corner of
the page. Once the menu drops down, click “Your profile settings” to upload a picture. This adds a personal
touch to what can feel like an impersonal online experience.

Step 3:
Send out an introduction to your class through Pathwright before your first session. To send the email, click the
envelope button in the top-right corner of your course home page. This will allow you to send a bulk email to
each student individually. Students will gain access to the next week’s class content shortly after you conclude
Small Group Discussion Time each week.

Step 4:
Start moderating your class!

Moderator expectations:

 Time: Approximately 2-3 hours every week.

 Start and End Small Group Discussion on time.
 Reach out to individuals during the week for verse review. (especially for ED1… You can pair people
for ED2 & ED3)
 Update attendance each week in your Watermark profile for Rock Attendance tracking. (see attachment
for instructions)
 Be available to answer content related questions.
 Encourage devotional engagement, ex: “Here is what the Lord is teaching me…” vs. just cold facts. If
you encounter shallow engagement, ex: “I really like this class…” press in to encourage deeper
engagement.
 Post discussion questions in Pathwright at least 3 times through the semester to keep learners
engaged.
