TERTIARY EDUCATION DEPARTMENT

BOETHEIA PSYCHE PATRIOTS

CLUB FOUNDATION PROPOSAL

(Under Boetheia Psyche Patriots)
Name of Club : Chat It Up!: Podcast Production Club
Officers in Charge : Boetheia Psyche Patriots
Platform : Social Media Platforms

CLUB/ORGANIZATION NAME:
“Chat It Up!: A Podcast Club”
We decided to name the club “Chat It Up” as this depicts/shows friends who are there
for each other whenever they needed someone to talk to. Every episode, there will be a
specific title depending on what topic the podcast hosts will be talking to.
RATIONALE:
From the previous school year, the Boetheia Psyche Patriots club introduced a
podcast activity to the Tertiary Education Department community during the mental
health month celebration last October of year 2022. Even though it only garnered 45-50
attendees, the BPP Club still considers it as a successful event because of the
feedbacks we got from the attendees. The BPP Club decided to open this event and
create a separate club/organization that will cater more students who are eager to learn
and enhance their skills in behind-the-camera actions, and encourage students to join
and unleash their talents. This club aims to produce at least 10 episodes (either live or
recorded) within the school year 2023-2024 which includes different topics – from
school experiences to every day scenarios. We believe that it is important to have some
heart to heart talks with different students in the campus as a way of relaxing and
removing some of the burdens they have under their plate.
OBJECTIVES:
For club members, the students will be able to:
1. Unleash and enhance their skills in producing a podcast
2. Enable to exercise their cooperative and communication skills
3. Enable to be creative in many ways

For club listeners, the students will be able to:

1. Enable to learn how to express their emotions and feelings
2. Enable to exercise their communication skills
3. Be more open with their co-students and the people around them

II. GUIDELINES:
1. Open to the students under Tertiary Education Department of PWC of Davao
who are interested to join and willing to hear, talk and share stories about the
given topic/s.
2. The given topic will be the one highlight conversation for the podcast which it will
make the flow more organized and focused at the same time. The emcee will be
the one to introduce the guest speaker
3. Each episode will have a guest speaker, either from the students or from the
faculty.
4. To properly begin the conversation, the emcee will introduce the topic for the
episode. Guest speaker will also have an input.
5. Either the emcee or the guest speaker will read questions from the audience
(either live or from a form-if recorded).
6. The hosts and the guest speaker must find a way to converse with each other, at
the same time answer the question from the audience.
7. Be welcoming and gracious when it comes to conversing– Set the aura for a
great interview by being warm and welcoming to our guest speaker. Invite them
to be relaxed and honest. When you are open and friendly, your guests will feel
more comfortable sharing personal experiences. This will help the conversation
flow and break the ice.
8. Ask open-ended questions. One way to keep a conversation going is to get the
other person talking. And the best way to do this is by addressing her open-
ended questions.
9. Share your own stories – Even though your interview-based podcast is
spotlighting your guest, your listeners want to hear from you, too! Share your
own stories and perspective so the interview sounds less like a job interview and
more like a real conversation.
10. Go off script – While it’s great to be prepared for your interview with a list of
questions you’d like to ask your guests, don’t let that preparation dictate how the
interview goes. If your conversation is going in a really interesting direction, don’t
cut it off to get on with your next question. Follow the natural flow of the
conversation and allow that amazing content to reach your audience.
11. This podcast will restrict the usage of profanity, ad hominem, and insulting words.
12. Students who can gain that violation will automatically be added to the list for
escalation to OSA for proper discipline.
