Optics Assembly - changes to base and shipping lock

bracket
IMPORTANT: When doing the procedures in this document, you must use safe work
practices and wear the correct Personal Protective Equipment (for example, Safety
Eyewear) according to your Company's Standard Operating Procedures.

Information
This bulletin provides information on changes to the optics assembly base and front
shipping lock brackets. The base changes were made to improve manufacturing tooling,
and simplify mounting of the SOP sensor (for 6950) and the optics assembly in the
machine.

The following service part numbers will remain the same with parts added to allow
either the old or new optics assembly to be installed:
1. Optics Assembly Kit (SPAB8130) for the DRYVIEW 6950 Laser Imager, TRIMAX TX65
Laser Imager, MyVue Center III, and TRIMAX FK
2. Optics Assembly Kit (SPAA4993) for the DRYVIEW 5950 Laser Imager, TRIMAX TX55
Laser Imager, and DRYVIEW DV5950K.
3. Optics Assembly Kit (SP9G6742) for the DRYVIEW 5700 Laser Imager and TRIMAX
TX40 Laser Imager.

Manufacturing serial number effectivity of the new optics assembly:

For 5700/TX40:
• 57139636 to 57139702 (67 machines), 57139706 to 57139726 (21 machines),
57139730 to 57139736 (7 machines) and all machines starting 57139739;
• 57043754 to 57043776 (23 machines), 57043789 to 57043796 (8 machines),
57043808 to 57043814 (7 machines) and all machines starting 57043836;
• 57331788 (1 machine) and all machines starting 57331795;
• All machines starting 57830076
For 5950/TX55:
• 59139870 to 59139911 (42 machines), 59139913 to 59139914 (2 machines),
59139927 to 59139929 (3 machines) and all machines starting 59139949;
• 59542742 to 59542781 (40 machines) and all machines starting 59542789;
• 59830268 to 59830273 (6 machines), 59830275 to 59830282 (8 machines),

When ordering a replacement Optics Assembly Kit, you may receive an Optics Assembly
with the old base or a new base from service parts. To provide everything needed to

complete an Optics replacement, four (4) parts will be added to each kit listed below.
The parts/numbers shown are not available separately from service parts, but the
numbers are labeled on the part and allow identification / use of this service bulletin’s
instructions.

Example 1:
You receive a DV5700 or DV5950 or DV6950 Optics Assembly Kit that has the old base:
• If you are replacing an Optics Assembly in a machine that has an old base, none of
the additional parts are needed to install the Optics.
• If you are replacing an Optics Assembly in a machine that has the new base, you will
need to use the Floating Rail (9G3570) and replace the Shipping Lock 9G3598 (for
5700/TX40) OR use Floating Rail (9J0725) and replace the Shipping Lock AG0620 (for
5950/TX55 and 6950/TX65) to install the old base Optics.

Example 2:
You receive a DV5700 or DV5950 or DV6950 Optics Assembly Kit that has the new base:
• If you are replacing an Optics Assembly in a machine that has a new base, none of
the additional parts are needed to install the Optics.
• If you are replacing an Optics Assembly in a machine that has the old base, you will
need to remove the Floating Rail that is already in the machine and replace the
Shipping Lock AH2225 (for 5700/TX40) OR replace the Shipping Lock AG6540 (for
5950/TX55 and 6950/TX65) to install the new base Optics.

NOTE: If the Optics Assembly Kit is setup as an exchange part, also return the Floating
Rail and Shipping Lock parts that were not used, or were replaced, along with the
replaced Optics Assembly.
