Matt loved to draw. Matt also
loved his baby brother, Sam. He was
thinking about Sam as he drew a
picture. It looked just like Sam. Matt
drew every hair on Sam’s head. Matt
was pleased with his work.

Matt ran to show his picture to “Wow! Do you think I could?”
Mom. asked Matt.
“What a great picture!” said Mom. “Sure. We can take your picture to

at the community center?” Matt put his drawing down. Then
he sat down to eat lunch. He put some
peanut butter on a piece of bread.

As Matt was eating, he did not
see Sam crawling over to his picture.
Sam had some crayons and he began
scribbling on Matt’s drawing.

”Oh, no!” screamed Matt. “Sam

scribbled all over my drawing! There
are colors in all the wrong places!”
“It looks like Sam wanted to draw
too,” said Mom. “Now your drawing
is not only of Sam. It is also by Sam,”
Mom chuckled.

Matt was disappointed but he gave
Sam a hug. “I forgive you,” he said.
“Don’t worry, Matt,” said Mom.
“You can still put your picture in the
show. It is still a great drawing.”

Finally, the day of the art show

came. Matt, Mom, and Sam went to
the show together. They saw a big
sign when they got there. The sign
pointed the way to all of the artwork.

Matt, Mom, and Sam walked
around the art show. There were
many different kinds of art.
They looked at paintings and
drawings and things made of clay.
There were colorful ribbons hanging
next to some of the artwork. The
ribbons showed which artwork had
won prizes.

Finally, they reached Matt’s

drawing. Matt gasped. Right next to
his drawing was a colorful ribbon.
“You did it!” said Mom. “I am very
proud of you.”
“Look, Sam!” shouted Matt. “Our
picture won a ribbon!”
