The document summarizes a community service project where a neighbor's unused plot of land was lent to grow staple foods. [1] The volunteer planned maintenance activities like weeding and removing unwanted plants for the talong, sili, and kamote tops garden over a month from June to July 2020. [2] During implementation, the volunteer demonstrated gardening skills like weeding, removing debris, and using mulch while being careful not to disturb worms. [3] After implementation, the volunteer checked that all plants received sunlight and continued weeding, finding that the talong showed most growth while the sili grew least due to its location in poorer soil.

DOCUMENTATIONS End-of-Activity Report I. Before implementation The project was made possible from the partnership of my family to help our neighbour to share an unused soil space to have a source of staple food in the future as we lend an unused lot to be planted. The time frame covered by my project in helping them is from June 22, 2020 until July 24, 2020 in Purok 3, Brgy. Ar-arampang, Balaoan, La Union. In the planning of the project, I made a schedule for the list of things that I have to do whenever I go and visit the vegetable garden. I downloaded references to gain knowledge when it comes to handling plants (maintenance). I identified the things that I cannot do for the garden like watering because it’s rainy season. So I will not spoil the plants to be reliant by being self-fed daily by water and water is scarce in the area. No recycling of plant boxes will be used because the plants don’t need them since they are already planted directly in the garden. I identified tool that I need in my gardening activities like kumpay and boots. The soil is naturally fertile so no compost needs to be added. I counted how many plants will be part taken care of the project. The garden only has talong, sili, kamote tops and sitaw. Sitaw and kamote tops will not be a part of the project because it’s been taking good care by the partnered neighbour. During the implementation of the project, I demonstrated my aptitude in gardening. Not all unintended plants that grew in the garden are uprooted because some plants are considered helpful and can be a source of staple for making viand such as saluyot. I uprooted a lot of grass, shrubs, vines and other unnecessary plants that compete with the vegetables in absorbing nutrients. Digging of soil is not necessary because plants are already planted before the implementation of the project by the neighbour. As I maintain the cleanliness in the garden, I only removed objects that are not a contributory factor for the development of the plants such as larger twigs and broken ceramics ( bubog). I used the dried leaves and barks that are already present in the garden grounds as much mulch for the plants as well as natural fertilizer. Weeding became the main task for the project. During the process, I didn’t displace worms that are already present in the garden. After the implementation, I checked the garden if all plants are receiving enough sunlight. I continue to remove weeds that continue to grow around the plants. One way for me to identify if plants are growing is by measuring their height and counting leaves that are in good and bad condition and length for the kamote tops. Among the three plants, the talong has shown much improvement in growth. The sili plants did not show much growth because it is situated in the least tended soil. The eggplant is evidently healthier as it grew larger leaves.
Sunlight exposure was maximized in the garden for the eggplants, sili plants and kamote tops DOCUMENTATIONS DOCUMENTATIONS DOCUMENTATIONS DOCUMENTATIONS DOCUMENTATIONS DOCUMENTATIONS DOCUMENTATIONS
