5. FIRE FIGHTING MEASURES

i) Suitable extinguishing media: Dry chemical powder, carbon dioxide, alcohol-resistant foam, and or earth.
ii) Unsuitable extinguishing media: Unknown.
iii) Hazardous decomposition: Carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide and other harmful products.

6. ACCIDENTAL RELEASE MEASURES

i) Personal precautions: Prohibit smoking, eating or drinking at the area where it is used. Use water and cleanser
for cleaning purposes. Keep away from sources of heat, naked flames and sparks.
Maintain efficient ventilation.
ii) Personal protection: Avoid contact with the skin, eyes and clothing. Use protective gears like mask, goggles
and gloves as a good industrial practice.
iii) Environmental protection: Dried film does not dissolve in water and is not considered hazardous. The solvent
content is highly volatile and highly flammable. A vacumn hood should be used to suck
away the solvent vapour.

7. HANDLING AND STORAGE

i) Handling: The compound can be applied by spatula or brush.

ii) Storage: Store away from direct sunlight and heat. Keep containers tightly closed.
iii) Other information: Shelf life is 12 months. Viscosity will increase with time.

8. EXPOSURE CONTROL / PERSONAL PROTECTION

i) Engineering control measures: Not applicable.

ii) Occupational exposure standards: Not available.
iii) Hygiene measures: Wash hands with soap / cleanser and water before and after contact. Do not
ingest. Take care that food and drinks are not contaminated with the
compound.
iv) Eye protection: If the product has entered the eyes, flush them immediately with running
clean water for up to 15 minutes. Seek medical attention.
v) Body protection: Use protective gloves and mask. If ingested, DO NO INDUCE VOMITING.
If large quantity is swallowed, obtain medical attention immediately or send
to hospital.

10. STABILITY AND REACTIVITY

i) Chemical stability: Solvents contained are highly volatile. Shelf life is 6 months. Viscosity will
increase with storage time. Colour will change to dark brown when stored long.
ii) Incompatibility (material to avoid) Avoid water, oil, dust on surfaces you want to bond to.
iii) Conditions to be avoid: Direct exposure to sunlight and heat. The cap of the container should be
closed at all times to prevent it from drying up.
iv) Dangerous reaction: N/A
v) Hazardous products of decomposition: Incomplete burning can produce carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide and other
harmful products.

11. TOXICOLOGICAL INFORMATION

i) Basics for assessment: Practical experience and chemical composition of the solvents in the sealant.
ii) Eye irritation: Possible
iii) Skin irritation: Single and short exposures poses no threat. Prolonged exposure may cause skin
irritation on sensitive individuals.
iv) Respiratory irritation: Possible
v) Other information: The dried film is basically very safe, inert, non-reactive and non-corrosive. Sensitive skin
may be irritated if direct exposure is prolonged.
vi) Toxicity: Non toxic when dry.

12. ECOLOGICAL INFORMATION

i) Basis for assessment: Pratical experience and chemical composition.

ii) Mobility: Fluid and mobile but thicker than water.
