Robredo urges more farmers to join ‘Angat Buhay’

The thriving anti-poverty program of the office of the Vice President has already helped
thousands of poor Filipino families, but Vice President Leni Robredo is inviting more local
farmers to join the program. At the launch of Angat Buhay’s “OMAsenso sa KaBUHAYan” on
Friday here, Robredo encouraged more indigent local farmers to sign up for the program. “In
this program, we organize ordinary farmers and link them to a particular market. Individual
farmers are unlikely to find a stable market, that is why we cluster them,” Robredo said. “There
is no need to worry for farmers, because we will provide them inputs like financial assistance
from cooperatives and we will also provide them technical expertise from the Department of
Agriculture and Department of Trade and Industry,” she added. “This program aims inclusive
growth because instead of hotels or restaurants importing raw materials, there will be local
farmer organizations that can provide them the ingredients they need,” she added.

One of the rising issues in our country is industrialization. Because of this, many plains
and forests have been cleared for the needed space of the said process resulting into lesser
agricultural lands which can lead to a very major problem, specifically the insufficient raw
supplies behind every products produced by the industry. Problems have been arising lately
which broadly affect the lives of farmers and agriculturists. Folks who live near or in the
mountains mostly depend on farming and agriculture. By making anti-poverty programs, the
government would surely help the people behind the products we use right now. It would help
them learn new technologies on how to improve the quality of the crops, by using the right
materials and methods provided by the government to have a better income for their families.
This would honorably benefit not only the farmers, agriculturists, or people from mountain areas,
but also it would make a better raw material to produce materials with high qualities for us to
avail and account.
