RIGID STRANDERS

560-800MM

Rigid Stranders are cage type machines without backtwist.

The term ‘rigid’ implies that there is a significant twist
around the longitudinal axis of each element during the
process.

Typical lines include the capability to strand 37 or 61

elements in a single pass with tandemizing options to
further enhance the line’s capabilities.

FEATURES
• Rigid center shaft design with pedestal
bearing support at each end (no under
rollers)
• Machined or fabricated steel cage
(no welded strength members for
superior strength and resistance to
stress fractures)
• Pneumatic tension control using one
pressure regulator on each cage to set 9355-10 A 24 bobbin cage set up to payoff 18 bobbins. This machine accommodates the 630mm DIN
the initial tension (running tension is bobbin in a 4 bobbin per flyer design at speeds up to 300rpm with the “speed up” alternative feature.
maintained by the diameter sensing
system)
• ’Nylon MDS’ brake material
• Closing die stand for each cage
• Wire guided to closing dies by rollers
• Bobbin rotation sensors (optional)
• Pneumatic activated pintle
• Safety guard

locked, electrically sensed, and safety interlocked with the main drive circuit.

Speed/Brake Profiles display the result of
a series of computations that take into
account the properties of the material and
the physical characteristics of the line. The
objective is to maintain constant tension in
the wire throughout the production run.
This approach ensures predictable prod-
uct quality taking into account batch to
batch variation of the input material.
Access to such profiles are available from
a touch screen panel allowing operators to
preview profiles at any time.

The data shown is a compilation of information from various databases and
presents data for review during a process run. Note: graphic operating screens
are specifically designed for each line. The display content and format is
developed in conjunction with the operating philosophy of each manufacturing
centre.

speed profile including both conductor strength and cage speed limitations. Note
how the speed up feature adds significantly to the production capability of this
product.
