Scholarships
　See below for the main scholarships available to international students.

Note that, the scholarships eligibility depends on your undergraduate/graduate
school and year of study. Moreover, depending on the aforementioned
factors, international students may not be eligible for the below scholarships.
Furthermore, the below scholarships target privately financed regular
international students. Consequently, the Japanese Government Scholarship
(Monbukagakusho) students, students that are supported by overseas
governments and students who receive scholarships from scholarship
organizations for their tuition, as well as non-degree research students are not
eligible to apply.
　Scholarship announcements and recommendations for each scholarship are
made not directly by the Scholarship and Financial Assistance section but
through each respective undergraduate/graduate school office following one
of the below methods.
　A. Scholarship Information is posted on the undergraduate/graduate school
bulletin board. Please follow the application requirements and methods of
application indicated.
　B. Undergraduate and graduate schools will select and contact the most
suitable students directly from the group of registrations and notify to
them.
International students, who wish to receive a scholarship, need to fill out
an application entitled“Scholarship Registration Form”(for International
Part-Time Job Bank Account Scholarships

Students) at the time of enrolment, alternatively every April, and submit it
to his or her respective undergraduate/graduate school by the application
deadline. However, please note that submitting the“Scholarship Registration
Form”does not mean you have applied for scholarship. For each scholarship
application procedures, follow the instructions of your respective school office.
　Foreign nationals with the following resident status;“Permanent Resident”,
“Long-term Resident/ teijusha ”,“Spouse of Japanese resident”,“Spouse of
permanent resident”can apply for scholarships in the same way as Japanese
students. In this case there are different application procedures and you do not
need to submit“Scholarship Registration Form”(for International Students).

The Asia 21 Scholarship Foundation was established in 1989 by the
Nippon Rent-A-Car Group as part of its 20th anniversary celebration.
Since then, the foundation has been active in promoting international
exchange and providing scholarship support for Asian students. In
2008, the foundation newly established this scholarship in order to
support international students from Asian countries and local Japanese
students who pursue global environmental issues as their research
theme.
● Atsumi International Scholarship Foundation

　This scholarship was founded by the bequest of late Takeo Atsumi,
honorary chairman of the Tokushima Construction Corporation.
Through providing assistance to outstanding international students, the

● Ito Foundation for International Education Exchange

Qualifications ● Students scheduled to enter Master Degree programs　
Stipends ￥180,000/month

founder of the Shinyoen religious organization, through providing

　This scholarship was established with a donation from Iwatani
Corporation for international students. The objective of this scholarship
is to preserve good future relations with Japan and other countries,

nations. Also, the foundation aims to contribute to the improvement of
lifestyles between exchange partners.

　This scholarship was established for the 30th anniversary of the
founding of the Usio Electric Corporation for students in financial need.
Purpose of Scholarship 　Moreover, through academic research and cultural activity related
events, this foundation aims to cultivate and develop talent in academic
and cultural fields.
● Otsuka Toshimi Foundation

● Undergraduate/Graduate students ● Students from coutries in Asia,
Qualifications Africa or Middle-East region ● Majors in medicine, pharmacentics,
nutritional science, physical science, MBA
Stipend ￥1,000,000/year ( ￥500,000, ￥1,500,000 in special circumstances)
In 2007 a program supporting international students from Asia, Africa and
the Middle-East regions was established with the financial assistance of Mr.
Toshimi Otsuka. The Otsuka Group begun its overseas buisiness in 1973
Purpose of Scholarship and currently it has grown to 45 subsidiaries in 10countries in the above
mentioned regions. It supports those countries in the health and medical
industries. This scholarship is aimed at nurturing talented people and assisting
in the development of those regions.
● Okamoto Scholarship Foundation

International Foundation

　This scholarship was established in commemoration of the late
Ms. Mihoko Nishiyama, a member of the Jissen Alumnae. Ms. Utako
Purpose of Scholarship Shimada, the founder of the Institute began accepting students from
China during Meiji Period. This scholarship is provided to overseas
students and to local students who wish to study abroad.
● Foundation of Seiho Scholarship
