Thinking as a Hobby

By William Golding

1. William Golding says that "grade-one thinkers are few and far in-between" because they are rare
or scarce. When you arrived as a grade-one thinker he meant that not only you can detect
contradiction and ask a question you also answer these questions.

2. I agree that "grade-one thinkers are few and far in between." William Golding considers Einstein
as a grade-one thinker and if that the case then grade-one thinkers are few and far in between.
Also, it is someone who seeks the truth and try to look for the answers for the truth.

3.

a. The statuettes that wearing nothing but a bath towel is Venus of Milo or the goddess of
love and beauty. The statuette of Venus of Milo is somewhat fascinating because in
today's generation of technologies everyone seeks to be beautiful to the extent that they
spent a lot of investments such as money and time towards beauty I think that this is a
way for them to love themselves. Furthermore, I think that there is one more meaning to
the statuette of Venus of Milo, and that is the grade-two thinker wherein he has the power
see contradiction and seeks the truth but never bother looking for the answer.

b. The statuettes that is ready to spring down at the top drawer is the leopard, the leopard
symbolizes nature. William Golding, mention about Mr. Houghton wherein every time a
girl passed the window his neck would turn towards the girl for this reason the male's
nature to be intrigue when they see a beautiful girl. Also, the leopard is the symbol of the
grade-three thinker wherein they are filled with prejudice, hypocrisy and ignorance.

c. The muscular gentlemen, who sat, looking down is The thinker or Rodin the thinker, If
the thinker really symbolize that of Einstein then I have not yet to meet the thinker but
then what does qualify to be the thinker? Furthermore, Rodin the thinker symbolizes the
grade-one thinker this is when someone asks the question and then sets out to find the
answer. Then again in modern times everyone who ask questions can always turn to
google for answers.
